i would consider 'young' to be 18-21. Hip-Hop, by my definition was popularized by artists such as Tribe Called Quest, WuTang, Blackstar (Mos Def, HiTek, and Talib Kweli), the Roots, Mob Deep, Biggie Smalls, Common, Del the Funky Homosapien, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Leaders of the New School, Pharcyde, Blackalicious, and a few others. It was somethint different than mainstream rap. One famous Wutang member described what they did as a lighter version of mainstream stuff aimed at expanding the viewpoint of black males as popularized in media ans whats seen on tv. by appealing to a lighter, widee audience they might appeal to the cognitive side of rap listeners. Sadly. Hip Hop is dead. None of the Hip Hop artists are able to make money recording, some still tour. Some act. Many are non existant. but none are 'young'.
