There's ways to restrain her without hitting her. Don't try and justify that

I'm not trying to justify anything. Saying how I would react.

Do you know the back story there? Like the fact the aunt has assaulted his mother previously.

Again, I would have done the same if my mother was involved especially knowing the history there.

I don't side with the kid. I've seen people face their child's murderer in court and have restraint (I understand that they are dissuaded by the contempt of court charge and time behind bars that would ensue...much like this kid could have been compelled by the negative consequences of his actions). With his size, he could have handled and diffused the situation much differently.

He did push his mom back eventually. He may have been running on adrenaline/rage and taken out years of frustration. Doesn't make it right but that's a very plausible reason why he did it.

I'm all for the bowl hardware, but it's about damn time we get some rings saying we won the SEC.

100% this. Four years in with good coaching and two elite recruiting classes with a strong two deep. While playing in the weaker division and having a favorable schedule. It's time.

I'm super sick of all these videos being released to the public with zero context, and we're all supposed to watch them and be horrified. At some point the horrifying nature of what's happening gets lost. It's starting to feel more like a talking point to further a political agenda.

I'm just tired of it. Feels like deja vu. Same thing over and over again. The media keeps releasing these videos trying to catapult themselves into a better career by exposing somebody else's worst moment. Ugh. I'm done being a part of that.

It's becoming like the police brutality videos that paint cops as these awful villains. I'm sure some of them are and some of them aren't. But there's enough information to be gathered through your own real life experiences that can better inform your opinions besides watching some 2 minute phone video that doesn't allow you to understand anything about what's actually going on.

The media will happily form your opinions for you if you let them.

Sorry for the rant. Carry on. I've just got self righteous people fatigue.

I am tending to agree with you more and more. Everyday there is some sort of shock journalism that people get outraged by only to find out that it is overly embellished. This guy is 18-19 and if it is truly over someone constantly berating his dead nephew, that is an emotional hot button.

When my 16 year old sister in law passed, we had everyone from our community come out. One guy and his girlfriend thought it would be awesome to put satanic material in her hand, pushed down so you could barely see it. Another sister in law found it and I took it and threw it at the guy the next night, told them both to not come back, the girlfriend mouthed off and I really wanted to punch her but I am older and wiser and just let it roll off. So I really could see being in his situation at 18-19 of wanting to harm a female.

She never should have said anything about them if he is telling the truth but he never should have hit her.
