Jimbo Fisher played for Terry Bowden at Samdford, then had an undefeated season with him as an assistant at auburn, so if he belongs to anyone's coaching tree it's Bowden's.

Dantonio won a national championship as the DC for Tressel at youngstown state. 5 years before he coached for Saban. So again, not a saban protege.

McElwain coached for John L smith and Art Shell long before saban had ever heard of him.

McDaniels dad was friend with Saban. Hooray nepotism. Also, not really a good case for a great head coach argument you seem to be making.

Muschamp and Dooley, like smart, dont have a track record for success prior to saban. And they dont have a record for success after him either.

Here's some other Saban products who have been disasters as head coaches: Scott Linehan, Mike Mularky, Pat Shurmur,bobby Williams.

Saban is probably the greatest college football coach of all time, but he's got a pretty bad lineage of former assistants turned head coach. Smart will win some games because he'll always have talent. The state is just loaded with athletes, hell, Jim Donnan was 40-19 after all, but Smart doesnt scare anyone. UGA could've done much better.

Muschamp had good defenses under Tuberville and Mack Brown. He's much more proven than the other two. Smart hasn't done one thing without Papa Saban Bear. Lmao

Finally, some common sense. Mark Richt was 10-5 vs UT and he was mediocre. He beat UT his rookie HCing season (Hobnail Boot). Kirby Smart is a better recruiter, harder worker, with a higher IQ than Richt. Saban compares Smart favorably to himself. See ya Oct. 1st between the hedges. Wear some ear plugs!
