Josh Smith catch was a pass meant for a receiver further down field. JS just made an incredible catch then great run for the TD.

Back on the injury thing, literally every injured player (all 15+) are due back in june. Is there a reason for that, or is it pure speculation from Butch? IF they're all back by fall camp that would be tremendous!

I'd say Butch is a super cautious coach and the majority of those "injured" could play tomorrow if need be. I ain't worried bout nothin..

@wesrucker247: Apparently Byrd is still acting like he's playing wide receiver. So who knows? Last I heard DB was the plan.

Anyone know if Nike is going to overhaul our jerseys, make subtle changes, or keep them the same this year?

Well yeah the jersey number thing is a moot point then and we wouldn't be wondering about JJ. It has been assumed that he'd be playing DB.

The more interesting thing, IMO, about Byrd possibly playing WR is the fact that that would mean we brought in 6 WRs in this class (Henderson, Johnson, George, Callaway, Williams, and Byrd) and 2 TEs. 6 WRs seems a little excessive for any class.

Maybe Byrd will be splitting time between offense and defense or maybe Henderson or Callaway will get looks on defense.

Weird development all around, IMO. Byrd playing offense might mean he's either too good to tell no, the coaches aren't liking what they're seeing from some other guys, or we might see a bit of a spring exodus.

Hopefully it turns out to be a Jabrill Peppers/Adoree Jackson situation more than anything.

As many of our VFL brethren will tell you, the Lord works in mysterious ways...if I had known the outcome, I would have gladly suffered 1 million times more to end up with my children. They are both truly gifts from God. It was meant to be definitely applies here. I couldn't have designed better children that mine :)

I wasn't looking for sympathy with my story, just trying to show you that no matter how rough it gets or how gloomy the outlook may appear; if you just keep trying and have faith, something wonderful can happen :hi:

Florida State had 21 guys injured this spring including their best player Dalvin Cook. Guess what had him out? Yup...Shoulder injury.

While I hate injuries like you, we're not alone. There seems to be a rash of shoulder injuries nationwide. And Butch runs physical practices so injuries should not be a surprise.

Butch Jones runs tough practices compared to other programs. Some don't even hit during the spring.

Look up Oklahoma's spring game. Stoops had the first team offense and defense playing 2 hand touch. Yes you heard me right. It wasn't just the QB that was off limit. It was the whole first team.

I personally don't think that's the way to run camp. Sure it keeps you from being injured. I just don't think you get much better at tackle football without TACKLING.

Byrd is good enough to be a pro at either WR or CB.

I think the coaches did it for 2 reasons: (1) We're super deep at CB and Safety right now. Sutton, Martin, Foreman, Kelly, and Gaulden have the first team locked down. Plus Moseley, Henderson, Osborne, Abernathy, Griffin, and Berry provide awesome depth. Warrior will also be coming in this summer. So all in all we're loaded at DB. (2) However, we're thin at receiver. The only experience we have coming back is Malone, Smith, Preston, and Jauan. Plus the slot receiver position is a weakness right now. Byrd is still good enough to earn playing time on the second team defense as a true freshmen. But the staff must feel he can make a bigger impact for us on offense.


I wanted him at WR this year so this has me excited.

Jalen Tabor seemed pretty upset on Twitter about ESPN's FPI prediction that UT has a 59% chance to win the east. The following are his tweets from last night:

-"They" picked UT to win the east the last 3 years

-I feel sorry for "they"

-We'll make it 12 years in a row this year ,

-Might as well bring the sheriff out of retirement

-😒 too bad he didn't have any luck against the gators
