North looks good on paper, but give me the one that has consistently produced at a high level.

North is slightly taller. 6'2.5" vs 6'2". They are the same weight. 221 lbs. North is much faster. 4.42 (pro day) vs 4.63 (pro day). And North has the higher vert. 35" vs 33". Both have big hands.

On pure physical gifts, North is better.

Butch Jones' system and Azzanni as a coach was the worst thing to happen to North.

That's an embellishment, but seriously, North would have gone in the first two days in a system that knew how to use WR.

But the game isn't played at a combine in Indy with spandex skin tight shorts on.

He was on the field plenty

Depends on your definition of plenty. It seemed like after about halfway through 2014, he spent most of his time on the sidelines. A lot of games he was only on the field ~10 plays a game.

He obviously had some sort of problem with injury or otherwise because by the end of his time here the coaches weren't even putting him on the field. That paired with the fact that he left so early despite a lack of any meaningful production after his Freshman year points to some sort of issue with injury, attitude, or discontent with the coaching staff. If I were to guess, I'd say it was probably some combination of the three at various points of his time here.

Not saying he did anything wrong necessarily. Just that, for whatever reason, he wasn't on the field for pretty big swaths of his career. It's hard to use or misuse a guy when he's barely getting any snaps.

I'm not going to pretend to know the issues with North. But the facts are this... He produced very well as a freshman, and virtually nothing afterwards. I doubt coaching destroyed him. Either injuries or attitude are holding him back, and neither fills me with confidence, especially after an awesome pro day. It's even more curious

North had plenty of chances to prove his worth and seperate hisself from the others as a top WR. Unfortunately, he blew the majority of the chances he got. The ones he didn't tho were amazing! Will never forget the USC game that saved the drive and put us in fg range!!

Jags and Raiders killing the draft.. I feel like I'm in a dream right now

Jags are essentially adding 3 top 5 picks to the defense this year.

According to who? Maybe your unrealistic expectations. But this team has not been talented enough to underachieve. Georgia has underachieved the last 10 years. Tennessee has just sucked cause they didn't have enough good players.

According to a lot of people who follow football. The Vols had the talent to win the SECE last year. They underachieved, dropping at least two games they should have won-- games that would have put them in the SECCG.

Absolutely, UGA has underachieved with more talented players, and no doubt, Dooley drove this program into unprecedented suckage, but that doesn't change the basic premise: UT winning the SECE was not an unrealistic goal last year and it should be the base expectation this year. There are still some who suffer from BVS who think 9-3, with losses to UF, UGA and Bama, is an acceptable ceiling this year. I don't share those low expectations and, thankfully, neither do the coaches and players.

That being said Tennessee was picked to finish 2nd on average by reputable publications and they finished 2nd. Hardly underachieving. This year they have no excuses but to win it.

CBS had us 3rd
Athlon had us 2nd
NBC 2nd
Phil Steele 3rd
