Not surprised we didn't have a player drafted but I am surprised we only had four confirmed undrafted free agents. I thought for sure Pearson, Kyberson and Owens would get a shot and maybe a few others (McNeil).

I don't think folks realize how untalented some of these guys were.

If you wanna play that game, Alabama also had a bunch of draft eligible juniors decide to come back like Jonathan Allen, OJ Howard, etc. Florida also a had a few like Marcus Maye and Caleb Brantley.

Our upperclassmen are still significantly worse than our chief rivals. Time to face reality. We've been at a talent deficit for quite some time.

Caleb Brantley would've gone in the 3rd or later this year. Great prospect but still lots of work.

I'm not playing any game at all. I simply pointed out that UT could have had 3 juniors drafted and has had at least 6 players signed as UDFAs this year.

Nobody's denying that the Vols have not had the most talented upperclassmen. UT does not have Bama's roster. But about 25% of one of the worst senior classes in the history of UT football is headed to the NFL.

Many guys are signed as UDFA's for camp. Glad they get that chance, but I don't consider that "headed to the NFL."

OK. They signed a deal with an NFL team. That's still better than the players getting zilch and UT being completely shut out.

Not sure UT has ever been shut out for at least free agent signings since I have been following. Again, I like those guys getting chances, but teams sign a lot of free agents to camp.

Found this from a poster on virginiatech247. Funny coming from one of them, but true! Comparing Knoxville to Blacksburg.

Very similar..I've been there, I take it you haven't?

I have 2 times. Went to a Tennessee vs Florida game. No comparison between Knoxville and Blacksburg. The difference is like Northern VA to Southwest VA. Big difference. Neyland stadium is unbelievable with people tailgating on boats. Awesome place.

Yes, I realize this. I was just trying to spin things a little more positively. Apparently, that is frowned upon in this establishment.

I am a very positive person, but I realized that the rosters for both Dooley's and Jones' first years were the two worst in 30 years. Maybe history.

I don't remember Dooleys first year as well, but Jones first year was downright awful. That Oregon game was a travesty. Hard to believe in retrospect that it is even possible for us to have been down 59-7 in the third quarter to anyone. I'd love another crack at those guys. They got the pleasure of playing the two worst teams we've ever fielded.
