UT receiver Vincent Perry has academic work do do this summer to remain eligible. DT Shy Tuttle might not be full speed until late July - Hyams

The UT-Virginia Tech game Sept. 10 at Bristol Motor Spedway will be on ABC in prime time, with kickoff about 8 pm

Makes sense that Byrd would get a shot at WR now.

Heck, I would be ECSTATIC if Tuttle is full speed at end of July. I feared he'd be out for the first half of the season.
Injuries to the ankles and feet are notoriously difficult to heal and rehab. You have to be non weight bearing for the majority of your fractures and severe sprains/tears. This is actually really good news for us. I still wouldn't expect much from him anyway until mid season... No way he's stayed in good enough shape to be close to the conditioning you have to be in to play

What happened or didn't happen at Tennessee is not entirely clear yet, but this statement is completely baseless and is the height of click-driven irresponsible gossip-mongering masquerading as journalism. What an absurd thing to say.

I listen periodically to the Audible podcast with Stewart Mandell and Bruce Feldman. They've been consumed lately with Baylor. On this week's podcast, Mandell started to make this same claim about Tennessee and Baylor, and Feldman shut him down pretty quickly by explaining that Tennessee kicked players off the team left and right and that was a very big difference. Both he and Mandell agreed, though, that if evidence came out that Bowles was legitimately "threatened" by the team, etc. for coming forward, then their views would be different (i.e., much more negative). From what little I know about the details, I think the university actually intervened to make sure Bowles wasn't threatened. I think Tennessee will be vindicated in the end, but this is ridiculously messy (and obviously the victims in this need to be respected).

Feldman is pretty solid, glad to hear he hasn't gotten sacked into some easy clicks by taking the lazy route and comparing Tennessee and Baylor

Officially asked out of his LOI from Baylor. Held UT offer.

Excellent. Thanks GFW as always for calming me down :)

Yeah, but GFW doesn't know anything about players' academics. I mean, it's not like he has anything to do with such things. Right? A more reasonable explanation is that VP needs to be booted from the program to make room for the new mystery players. Yeah, that's it.

Even sarcastically imitating Bruin might just get you on some ignore lists....

Had a friend who recently was invited to John Ward's house and have dinner. Just raved how great it was and how gracious John was.

For Bruin to hate on our coaches and then John Freaking Ward, he can't be a true Vol's fan.

People don't make it a habit of muting the TV and turning up the radio for play callers if they're not any good.

This brought me back big time.

I remember being a little kid and one game my dad was wearing headphones listening to John Ward while we were both watching the game on tv. He always listened to the radio, but he put on headphones this time because I wanted to hear the tv announcers. I was being real stubborn about it. At some point he starts calling the plays out before they happen to me. "I bet Al Wilson makes a tackle for loss right here." Boom. You better believe the next play Al Wilson busted through and took the RB down behind the line of scrimmage. And (being a little kid) I didn't understand how he could possibly know every play so clearly before it happened. I thought my Dad was clearly a genius. Of course.

I finally figured out the radio was just ahead of the tv because he started screaming and sprinting around the house about 30 seconds before I saw Peyton throw a long TD pass. I finally figured out what was going on, but then I was screaming and celebrating with him and having too much fun to care.

From then on I always made sure to listen to the radio with him so I could be a genius too. Wish I could have had more time to listen to John Ward.

This article makes me SO mad. It is very harmful to our program and completely inaccurate. Our 2017 class won't come together with repeated articles like this. Is there anything TN can do to squash this comparison...

Listen up closely.

If you want to make personal attacks at least read the damn post and that's hard to do when you ignore someone.

I would take a bullet for john ward.
He is the single most iconic figure IMO in tennessee football history. I remember sitting with my grandfather listening to him make the call of "count it down with me. Tennessee beats alabama" in 1982.

I remember sitting with my uncle and hearing him say "was that ball intercepted in mid air, yes dale jones just reached up and grabbed it" in 1985.

I remember hearing him say "touchdown Big Orange on Play number 1" in 1995.

And most of all I remember him saying "5,4,3,2,1 the national champion is clad in big orange"

So read the damn post or stfu.

John Ward was mocked by rival fans for his mistakes. The biggest was at the end of the miracle at south bend. He was hated by rivals the same way we hate Larry Munsan. My guess is we would like Vern a lot more had he called games that we don't have nightmare type memories in.

Anyways all Announcers hear criticism some warranted and some not but there isn't one part of me that isn't willing to fight for john ward and there hasn't been one thing said here from me negatively about that man.

So in the words of the greatest vol ever "it's time it's time" to either read all the post, ignore or stfu
