for those of you who say, "don't storm the field...act like you've been there" my question to you is this: Do you still get upset when ut loses?

To clarify, I have never and will not be storming the field.

But it has zero to do with a "we should be above this and expect to win" prideful attitude.

I was there in '98 when we beat FL. I didn't storm the field. But it was fun to watch others do it.

We stormed the field at home against UF in 1998 and everyone knows what happened that season.

Win against UF in 2016, storm the field again. Rinse and repeat.

Florida was actually good then. We are supposed to punish them.

Obviously. What does that have to do with storming the field? We would be beating a solid Florida team, not winning the SEC. You can celebrate without storming the field. That would be embarrassing. It would still give them the mental mindset that they're supposed to beat us. They're not.

It goes after the whole, "act like you've been there" part. If you sitting there trying to tell me that statement then you shouldn't be getting upset when UT loses because that is where we have been the past 12 years with UF as well as 10 years overall with being out of the college football spotlight. Every team who wins a national championship gets excited. No matter how many they win. If the team is celebrating then I am. And I don't have to know anyone on the team to know that they will be on cloud 9 wanting to celebrate with the fanbase after this years win against UF. No matter how that celebration happens.

Make it a fun atmosphere to remember.

Just for clarification, I will not storm the field. I most likely won't even be able to afford the game day tickets. But, I just think that students storming the field is not as bad as some think it is. Nor am I trying to start a conflict on here. Just giving my piece about it is all. :hi:

If someone has a better DL than us, I'd like to see it? Bama may have the edge at tackle, but nobody has the DEs that we do. Barnett is the best in the country, and the guys on the other side and the depth behind them, man we're loaded. This is the year that McKenzie meets expectations and Tuttle comes back healthy. Shoop is right. No one will run the ball on us and every QB will be running for their lives.

Who are Bama's DTs? Payne isn't better than either KMack or Tuttle(who if healthy may be the best DT in the SEC). Tell them to bring it this Fall! 😎

Yeah, saying this DL is about to roast some Qb's is an understatement. THe day after play us opponent OL's are going to feel like they got ran over by multiple trains.

I would storm the field for bammer, not for FL. School gets fined at least $25k when it happens, so if the FL game did get stormed, very unlikely we'd be able to do it on bammer. I say that as if I expect us to win those games, ha feels good.

Anyway I would have to go with the crowd or get trampled, sitting on the 10th row in the student section.

I have tried to give you a break because my ignore list is getting so high, but you obviously do not know nearly as much as you think. I don't claim to know that much, but one thing I do know is injuries is what is held Bates back.. He played a lot his freshman yr before getting hurt and then the next year he was getting looks during spring practice, I believe, then sustained another injury.

So really, the only way he could have disappointed is being injury prone. Don't think he can do much about that problem??

Ignore away buddy. I could care less. Somebody did inform me in a nice & sociable way what was going on with him. I don't need your help especially when you respond like a child. Thanks!

After reading through the thread, does anyone know what happened to Wu-Tang? Hope all is well with him.

He's basically a lurker now, but posts every blue moon. From what I gather, he got tired of a lot of the negativity and general nastiness that often happens around here. I myself had to take a sabbatical for a few months for the same reason.

I wish he would post more often. I understand though. Sometimes when we miss on a big recruit or lose a big game, I need to either take a break or stick to non-football threads.
