If you want to have fun and celebrate, go get drunk on the strip. Don't storm the field and have the nation saying "UT beat the worst Florida team in a decade, but had to storm the field because they haven't beaten Florida for a decade."

There's simply no way this year's Florida team is remotely as bad as 2013's (which couldn't beat Georgia Southern but still beat us by two touchdowns). They're going to be pretty good, and we've lost to far worse Florida teams (2011, 2013, 2014).

Hell yea storm the field.

My dad has shared with me the feeling of being on the field seeing the goal post carried down the strip after beating the Bear

My feeling of being on the field in 98 after the "no sir ree" is priceless

This new generation has no such defining moment of a lifetime

Stop being so short sighted and prideful. This generation needs to experience the "drug" of a victory celebration that hooks them for a lifetime

This might be your best post ever, sir! Well done, and I agree. I was in my 2nd year of vet school when we stormed the field. It was unbelievable! Still remember smacking Will Overstreet on the shoulder pads...he was only a FR. :hi:

Then I prefer we do it against Bama. They are much better, have a legendary coach, and the losing streak is nearly as long as UF. I expect to beat UF this year, but see the Bama game as even.

Schools with national titles should not storm the field. Act like you expect to win and its not a surprise.

Really..we've been beat for over a decade straight...in what freaking universe should the fans be expected to act like they "expect to win". It has nothing to do wth suprise. It has everything to do with unloading 18 years of frustration. I hope we are tearing goalpost down a few times next year...it means thing are going..REALLY GREAT! If that embarrasses you, then too freaking bad.

Besides. If people storm the field for the Florida game, the University will be fined. If the University is fined and has to put up new posts too, they will crack down for the Bama game.

Bama game rates it more than FL.

Florida cannot beat us every year from now to eternity. It's impossible. Every year the streak extends brings us closer to the year it ends.

Was talking to a UGA fan today who still remembers when we beat them nine years in a row in the 1990s. He said he hated that streak because there were some heartbreakers in there where UGA almost beat UT, but UT would find a way to win. Sounds like us versus Florida.

We are too good of a team and program to lose to Florida repeatedly year in and year out now that we have coaching and roster stability.

I'm pretty confident it ends this fall. Too much going in our favor.

Yeah, because we need to storm the field to "unload frustration." In the universe I live in, a simple win, especially one that hasn't happened in a long time, is enough to unload frustration.

Interesting. There definitely are times where it makes sense, especially with a bitter employee, but I've never worked anywhere where that was standard practice when someone resigns.

I have. And you would be surprised who the company is. Very well respected.

Then you haven't lived. :hi:

It's a bit nutty.

Won't be a reason to storm the field bc it will be an anti climatic double digit win for the Vols

That's what I'm thinking as well. If it's a 2-3 TD win there won't be a field storm. Now if it's close I could see fans storm the field. But I doubt it's close.

38-17.

Good to see you back ready for fall camp, Jay!

You're something else. Sooooo cooool. Do you wear sunglasses at night? I'm sorta just kidding with you, but come on..a "simple" win"?

I'm fairly confident as well. I think the fact that we are so in their heads even though THEY are the ones with the streak is very telling. It's like they're getting their insults in for as long as they can.

But I've seen plenty of heartbreakers so I just don't take anything for granted. I hope this is the year, but it'll happen when it happens.

After all, streaks were made to be broken.

Apparently Team 120 is the most talented Vols squad since 2001 according to John Brice.

If that's the case, we should go 11-1 easily. 2016 Florida, UGA, and A&M would get blasted by that team. I think 01 Vols beat this year's Bama team as well.

We haven't won one damn game yet and you guys are storming the field. You better hope we don't have a bunch of major injuries this year because, if we do, that's gonna determine the outcome in some games. Carry on with the field storming though :}:}:}

Every team would get derailed by injuries, but Vols have more depth than most

It's ok to be excited about your football team. Just enjoy it! That's my approach. this year just feels different than any in recent memory to me. I'm very confident and am not afraid of that confidence. The veteran leadership on this team is the main reason why for me.
