Yep. Forgot about North's fall camp injury and then Maggitt was lost for the season in game two. Pretty sure Barnett played at about half-speed for the entire year after getting hurt vs BGSU as well.

I redded out all "FAHR BUTCH"-like after the OU loss, but I don't think I gave him enough credit for the bounce-back that began with UGA. We WERE a beat up football team, and to have lost like THAT to OU and UF, followed by Arkansas, the wheels could have totally come off. Down 24-3 in the 1st half to UGA, it looked like they were long gone. Yet Tennessee rallies and outscores them 35-7 to win. They fall a bit short to a much, much better Alabama team, and sweep the rest of the way.

Complain about not going for two and kicking field goals and all that - fair enough. But looking back, it was a pretty awesome coaching rebound after we lost to Arky.

Right but...what actual changes to the program were made. Different exercises, routines, regiments...it's too much of a difference this year to just write off as a coincidence. At least imo.

I have no idea what changes have been made other than the coach. I agree with GFW i doubt it's coencidence.

Fort just said that Picou will be able to provide some snaps at DT this season. I thought he was a year or two away. Also said Kongbo is legitimately capable of lining up as a true DT.

DT depth is great now, albeit comprised of:

-A guy coming back from a serious injury
-A guy who has never played a down of college football
-A guy who hasn't practiced with the team since arriving on campus in February
-A guy who has been primarily a DE and has only played college football for a few years

Still, I like the look of this:

KMack/O'Brien/Picou
Vickers/Tuttle (until healthy)/Kongbo/Johnson

Plus the host of DEs who can play inside when necessary.

It was an incredible turnaround.

UGA and Mark Richt were ridiculously close to putting Butch on the hottest hot seat in America and causing the team to likely implode.

But instead....UGA collapsed and Richt got fired.

You left out Butcher who's going to also be playing like Kongbo as a hybrid DE/DT guy. He gained weight to help out in the DT area in case we needed it. He's up to 275lbs. I believe or maybe it's 270.

I don't think Butcher has practiced at all this fall camp. Remains to be seen if and when he can actually suit up and get on the field.

Anyone seen HG? I haven't ventured very far in the threads since I got back in the fold, but I usually expect him in this thread.

Says who?

It's been posted on here a few times Kristy*. It was even posted by Hubbs or somebody from one of the practice threads.

Why do you have to question every single post of mine? I mean c'mone! Either you believe me or not. I don't care whether you do or not.

Why do you get so defensive when someone asks you to site your information? "Somebody from one of the practice threads" does not suffice; especially when your interpretation tends to vary from the actual posts. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, would you provide your quote from Hubbs or "somebody."

You're often too busy playing the victim to have a rational conversation, but I did have a reason for asking. This is a quote of mine from my thread, Mid-Summer Depth Chart Projections:

DE is the arguably the most stacked position on the team. Butcher may not see the field at DE this year with the depth. But he has packed on so much weight. I would be interested to see if he'll get a look at DT this fall.

This was about the time you showed back up on VolNation. I wanted to know if you had anything concrete or if you took my pure speculation and are spreading it as fact. TIA.
