From an article writing standpoint, I actually think Rucker does a pretty good job. But he seems pretty douchey personality wise. I definitely don't think in front of the camera is the place for him.

I am not sure what happened to him. He was not all that bad personality-wise, when he wrote for the Chattanooga Free Press. Then, he got his gig at 247 and got on the radio and he really changed. I do agree that he is a pretty good writer.

I don't know what he was like prior to 247 but I think twitter is where Vol fans grew to despise the guy. And he earned it.

His biggest problem is that he can't separate the trolls from the regular fans. I followed him on Twitter for a while and I could see a gradual change as his attitude towards the trolls and bottom feeders bleed over into all his interactions and posts.

I think you're correct. He has gradually moved from trying to "Clay Travis" the trolls to sniping at anyone who deigns to question anything he says or does.

I have missed the last few pages, but is there any truth to Charles Davis being our next potential AD?

I believe that's all speculation right now, but Davis has suggested he would at least entertain the notion.

However, it likely means a pay cut so I'm not sure I see it happening.

FWIW, obviously I am not Vol Colonel on Basilio. But, he spoke about what I also saw on both JG as well as Azzani. JG is a future star if he stays healthy. He has it all. I was very disappointed Z did not go away last off season. His presence is not a positive to the program IMO.

I agree on Coach Z. I wish we had made a change there this off season. My hope is that he's changed some of the ways he goes about handling his WR's this season, as he has to know he's on thin ice. I could see the receivers having an outstanding year and then us still letting him go after the season.

I would also like to see Gillespie become the offensive coordinator after Debord moves on in the next year or so. I could be wrong on that and calling plays may not be his strengh, but I think he's the best assistant coach on staff. I just have a feeling he would dominate. I would be okay if he became our head coach someday if Butch moved on. I think he is head coach material. Still so young. Love his fire. His guys always bring it.

This!! Plyo was the absolute worst. Had to skip this video after twice doing it.. I couldn't even walk down the stairs after. I just skipped it since I can't be limping around at work.

Lol!! It is rough for sure, and I would be sore too, but felt it was the best cardio workout ever.

Vol Colonel wrote a column on Basilio's blog this morning. He said that Guarantano was one of the best players on the field in the scrimmage he saw. Sounds like he might be separating himself from the other backups. I think this is super interesting.

He also said Kendrick is playing a lot of RT with the first team in place of Chance Hall.

Doesn't surprise me in the least bit. I've been saying he's the successor to Dobbs not Dormady.

Swain said a couple things that jumped out this morning on the radio...

1) Nigel Warrior is Eric Berry-level special as true freshmen
2) Richmond is basically not doing well enough at tackle as of now. Specifically he talked about how if we aren't able to take the next step this season it's because we can't pass protect for Dobbs. This struck me bc it has been reported on VQ that Richmond is the best pass protector on the team and better than Kerbyson was in that aspect.

Swain isn't all-knowing but I generally enjoy his show and insight. Just sharing for discussion. One good, one bad.

I think the Titans trading DGB likely means they feel great about Tajae Sharpe. I think he's gonna be a beast.

Yep. He's been running with the 1's for a while.

I'm waiting to see it on the field but I'm excited about his prospects, for sure. Coaches seem to be very excited.

Hmmmm. VQ guys seem to think that the battle at tackle has moved from LT to RT. And in fact, Richmond is better than Kerbyson at pass protection but a little worse at run blocking, and only because he's not quite as physical.

Checker Neyland does look awesome. I don't want it for every game, but we should definitely checker every Florida home game and, if there's an appropriately significant early home game in odd years, that game too.

Florida game is perfect because it's easier to get people to wear orange/white when the weather is nice in September (than later in the season) and also because Florida doesn't travel as well as Bama (so the checkerboard looks better).

Look I don't go to the games but I do watch it on TV and last years Oklahoma game was a beauty on the screen.

I wouldnt mind if we checkered EVERY HOME GAME. It looks that cool on TV.

I don't agree with you often, but this. That would be one tradition no other school could come close to.

He is in a big argument over on the 247 board with some of the posters. I imagine Richmond did have a bit of a difficult time in the scrimmage if he was primarily matched up against Barnett. It's good that he won't face anyone bettter this year. It does go against all practice reports that he has been great in pass protection.

People were calling out Swain on the board about past comments that TKjr would be recruited over (he is going to be really good this year).
