I thought the quarterbacks threw the ball nicely today. Dobbs in particular had a good day throwing the ball from my perspective. We got to see him throw the corner route for a number of reps and I think he was spinning it really nicely.

Guarantano and Dormady threw the ball nicely as well, but Dobbs has looked a little more consistent of late.

I thought the receivers did a good job of catching the ball as well and can only remember one ball on the ground and that was from an overthrow.

Don Mahoney and Debord were really coaching the young OL guys up today, being really detailed and spending a lot of time with them and giving them extra reps.

He looks like those DL that Oregon had the last few years Physically atleast. Armstead and Buckner. Could play inside and outside. Big tall guys.

If Kongbo plays both end and tackle, he could also be a 3-4 end in the pros. That kind of versatility could pay big time.

Is Kongbo good/big enough to be at DT on running downs?

Having a guy like Kongbo penetrating the pocket from the inside, with athletes like Barnett, Phillips, Vereen, and Taylor on the outside just means QB's are going to have a more difficult time getting the ball off.

IMO, he could be similar to Malik Jackson. Jackson was a DE who moved inside and is having a very good NFL career as a DT.

From what I saw, no, he would not be a typical DT. Not even a Malik Jackson type at this point because he is tall with long limbs, muscular and lean. Malik was a bit shorter with a frame that could handle more weight. Over time Kongbo could add some pounds to do that of course. I would expect him to be on the inside on passing down situations where he could loop and do Clowney type stuff. He could stay in there for a few downs at DT, but after awhile the O-line would get to him. JMO FWIW.

They appear to just want to find him playing time. Some inside work will do him good. But I would rather see him outside next season after Barnett and Vereen are gone.

Careful, Cat. Tony's gonna be using this quote to prove that Butcher has been moved to DT in a day or two.

Gotta make sure to spell things out extra simple.

I said he was being tried as hybrid DE/DT not straight DE or DT. Why do all you'll seem to want to pick on 'ol me? I'm getting old but I can still stand my ground.

If you like Owen Williams, you will like Picou. Has shed the baby fat, high motor, quick.

Kongbo is intimidating to see physically. Really looking forward to his development and use.

D-line is the least of our worries. That being said, I'm not really worried about any position group. Fans and posters on here will understand when they see this roster in action.

Shoop is the difference maker. Opens the full tool box for Butch to use and Butch knows it.

Love the Owen Williams comparison. Glad to hear that. Owen always seemed to be making plays.

12-0.

Appy State - can't compete with our size/athleticism
VT - can't score enough to keep pace
Ohio - can't compete with our size/athleticism
Florida - not enough offensive firepower or depth
Georgia - one dimensional on offense and shaky D
A&M - no QB and mediocre D at best
Bama - not enough experience on O to handle hostile environment
SC - no depth, large talent gap.
TTech - large talent gap
UK - lack of D
Mizzou - lack of O and depth
Vandy - lack of O and depth

1. Austin Pope is going to be great here barring injury or idiocy.

2. VT actually has a very very good WR and a very good RB. Their OL will be solid. If they find a QB they will be goooood on offense.

Hubbs said Tuttle was moving better than ever today. The fact that he hasn't had to take any days off in fall camp is very promising.

They're being very careful with him, I think he could play against Appy St if we needed him.

Save him for Florida and unleash hell.

Do you think the staff is saving some major stuff for Florida?

They have a lot of new pieces to work with that weren't there in 2015. And they probably won't need all of those pieces through the first 3 weeks.

Stop McMillian and VT usually doesn't come out with a W.

I don't think we'll have too much of an issue. Also, Ford got 500 of his receiving yards the last three games. He's good, but I'd like to see him maintain solid performances the entire season.

I didn't realize that about Ford, wow. That QB has potential but they need some things to click obviously.

They still don't have near enough offensive firepower. Haven't in years.

Cam Sutton, Evan Berry and Derek Barnett have been named CBS preseason All-Americans, per UT release. Sutton and Berry 1st team, Barnett 2nd
