Tuttle was gone half the season. He was still arguably our best DT and he is NOT back yet.

Kongbo is a DE.

Everyone should be stronger a year later. That's true.

Kmac losing weight is a nice fluff piece nugget for the fall. I think he will be better but him shedding some weight doesn't mean he is a Ndamukong Suh level DT all of the sudden.

Phillips, Mixon, Vereen all play defensive END not TACKLE.

And yes I think our DT play is a big reason we lost the UF and OU games. I'm not wrong either.

Sure there are other reasons. But the QB stepping up to avoid pressure off the end and then making us pay is a huge reason why we lost.

It's worth pointing out that O'Brien was suspended for the OU game.

So our DT rotation there was Williams, Vickers (first-year playing DT), Tuttle (FR, 2nd CFB game ever), and McKenzie (FR, 2nd CFB game ever, and about 30 lbs overweight).

Compare that to a rotation of RS JR Vickers (with 13 starts at DT), RS SR O'Brien (13 starts at DT, 36 total games played), SO McKenzie (13 total games played), and any of slightly gimpy Tuttle, Picou, and Kongbo as the 4th man.

John Brice wrote a pretty scathing article about how the university handled the Hart situation.

Doesn't strike me as a big deal if Blackburn is indeed the guy. He's younger and actually has UT ties. Would be an upgrade IMO.

What was his beef?

In terms of how he ran the AD, Hart had the people skills of fingernails on a chalkboard and was both tone deaf and heavy handed at times. He came across ok to the outside world and did some good. I appreciate him cleaning up a lot of the mess but he also made some huge mistakes. But the main thing with his clean-up job is that I truly believe he could've gone about it better and had he done that he'd still be here.

You just can't piss off that many people and even a lot of donors and expect to remain.
