Less than we have this year??? Arguably our best DT is working his way back from a nasty injury and we lost a DT to graduation. The lone DT we signed that could contribute this season is still suspended.

Not sure what you are getting at.

If we had elite SEC DT depth then we would have beaten Oklahoma and Florida. Both QB's were able to step up into the pocket and elude pressure.

Passive late game defense and playing Colton jumper as your starting MLB against OU wasn't great either.

Tuttle was gone for half the season, we gained Kongbo, and everyone else is better stronger and more experienced than last season. K-mack lost weight, Phillips, Mixon, Vereen,Picou are all back and better.... that is what I am saying...
Wait- you are actually saying we lost those games due to lack of elite SEC DT depth!? You lost me... off the reservation....

Tuttle will be back to playing at a high level by mid season.

Needs a few games to get his confidence and back in game shape. Coaches are being very conservative with him in practice for good reason.

Shoop's play calling will put more emphasis on DEs rushing the passer and allow the LBs to make plays between the tackles.

A better secondary means better run support and more one on one coverage.

Not really worried about the DTs.

D gonna eat this year.

Due to scholarship limits, transfers, busts, and injuries, it is impossible to be "peace of mind" deep at every position on the field.

But the way Butch is recruiting, we should be close to it at DL and OL by next season, which is by far the best place to have it.

I think that's where his "it takes 6-7 years to build an SEC program" comment came from. The first 3-4 years, you are relying on young guys on the lines of scrimmage. But by year 6-7, you are redshirting almost all of the new guys, and a few years after that, you're in a position where you can replace an injured RS SR left tackle with a RS JR left tackle...and still have another guy behind him.

There is little doubt Mckenzie will be better. Kongbo will slide inside some, maybe a lot. Picou will get reps.

That's what Del Rio's gonna be saying about our pass rush

"It was like that time I was riding my bike in the rain. This car came out of nowhere and wrecked my whole day. It was horrible. The UT DL was like a whole bunch of them cars."

We are as good at DT as anyone in the SEC. You guys act like other teams are 6 solid at the position. Everyone in the SEC has questions about their 4th, 5th, 6th DT.

Who's rotation is significantly better than ours?
