That's likely what it is but I've wondered for a while if there was something going on with boosters or something. Butch hasn't been doing the motorcade or helicopter rides to games like he was when we recruited the '15 class. It just seems like a big shift happened at some point in how extravagant we've been in recruiting and I don't recall hearing about any rule changes.

Well LWS just shut down this conspiracy in the FF. Basically said the coaches would rather have the defense lined up correctly and have one guy miss his assignments than all 11 be lined up incorrectly on the play. Either coaches dropped the ball in player development this past year or players didn't work hard enough to learn the defense.

LWS also said the probable solution is to move JRM to middle and McDowell to his spot- but it's giving JRM a lot of responsibilities that he is not used to- not only lining up defense but recognizing the opposing offense formation and calling the right play. Something JRM hasn't done in many practices and also taking him out of his natural position. But it allows for more athletic abilities on the field. Pick your poison I guess. Definately a perspective I hadn't thought about. I still feel JRM is way more upside than leaving Jumper in the game- especially against FL. That goes without saying.

This is the most I've seen a QB hit by Tennessee since the early 2000s. In a quick hitting offense he was having to eat the ball quite a bit. CBs are dominating action outside. Martin is in position just has to get his head around.

I think it will be hard to beat '14 when we gave up 43 sacks on the year. But you bring up a good point. He's not even getting a clear 2.5 seconds to throw it.
