miracle to beat FL.... may only happen if backup QB actually plays for them and he stays frazzled. Will be a low scoring game because our OL will continue to flat out suck and get thrown around and on their arses. If the miracle happens, and we get JRM and Chance back, maybe we pull an upset between the hedges, but it will all be on our D.... A&M and Bama are big losses... we get the rest of our injured back for the end of the season cupcake run... depending on the miracle situations will tell whether or not we go to the SEC championship and get our arses handed to us a second time by Hurts... we go to a descent bowl game. If we lose 3 out of the 4, which is highly expected with the lack of performance and injuries thus far, we go to a low tier bowl and squeak by with a demotivated performance. Recruiting will slow to a crawl and the sunshine pumpers will try and make excuses... Mahoney and maybe, just maybe, Debord finally get their walking papers... we sign a very heavy 3* class and sink into mediocracy again.... the sunshine pumpers come back out to make excuses for the coaching staff and say brick by brick, even if we are building an out-house... 2016 season and '17 recruiting class in the books.. hit the reset button.... Butch gives a bunch of coach speak about buying in and it being a building process that takes time, all the while other teams rise and prosper. The same highly touted players we recruited have another "growing" year according to Butch and continue to under perform and do not develop. We blink and we are in year 5 with this conference USA coach and staff and we have become a tick above the Miss St, KY, Vandy, and Mizz of the SEC... cool. But Butch and staff have been worth every million... August 2017, please someone come back and tell me I am not dead nuts on... It is what it is... no sugar coating

Regarding the "Whatifsports" simulation.

I check their stuff pretty often. Their statistic projections are always very middle of the road. Tennessee just played very middle of the road yesterday, so it lined up.

Take, for example, FSU vs Louisville this week:

What if sports: FSU winning 60% of the time. Louisville rushing for 145 yards and scoring 26 points.

Reality: Louisville won, rushed for 314, scored 63 points.

Their simulations and scores are always conservative.

I noticed that too. I'm thinking maybe the thing you can draw from it is that it demonstrates just how extraordinary a performance like the one Louisville had was (which should temper expectations for them going forward), and how mediocre/lackluster the performance Tennessee had was (and encourage us that UT has the potential to be much better).

Team hasn't even played ONE good game and the fans are terrified of Florida. Smh You guys have got to grow a pair as fans.

Correct the team hasn't play ONE good game.

Thus the reason for concern. Makes perfect sense to those that understand this team isn't playing disciplined football and that kind of thing losses games like this one. Hopefully we can change that trend but to act as if it isn't a real worry is silly.

Not a football expert, but some said Abernathy should have dropped back. Jumper was further inside, so not sure whose responsibility it was. There was also a back that someone had responsibility for as well.

Wide receiver is not the ILB's coverage. If Jumper has anyone on goal line it would be TE or RB.

After watching the Bama and Ohio State games I hope we are recruiting hard hitting MLBs. Need guys that will enforce that we don't want you running a thing on us.

SN: Funny how Bama is running the spread a lot with Hurts. Even Saban will let someone else run his offense after being conservative at first. Butch should take a hint and step back.

Lol, like that's going to happen

Ole Miss is going to teach UGA a lesson this week in Oxford. Can't wait to see UGA exposed, and then watch them begin to melt down after Tennessee gets a hold of them a week later.

I expect Ole Miss to beat UGA pretty handily. Chad Kelly and Ole Miss' big receivers will give UGA fits. Their defense also plays physical and fast. They played Bama tough, and Bama has way more talent and depth than UGA. UGA is playing freshman and sophomore's all over the field on both sides of the ball.

Looking forward to watching the Tennessee - Florida game to see how Tennessee does against an SEC defense. Also interested to see how Tennessee does against Florida's revamped run game.

Tennessee definitely caught a break with Del Rio getting injured; and Tennessee will be favored playing at home with Dobbs being the more experienced QB. With that being said, Saturday will be Tennessee's first big boy football game of the season. Florida's defense is no joke and McElwain is always a tough in game coach on offense.

I agree totally! Mizzou should have beaten them, they did what we did last year, stayed ultra conservative at the end and tried to hang on. If they could have gotten last first down, game over..

It was a typical back and forth SEC football game. UGA would have lost that game last year. The new staff did a good job of making in game adjustments. The big difference is that Richt would never had allowed Eason to throw the ball 55 times. Georgia threw the ball 59% of the time, which hasn't been done by a UGA QB since the year 2000. Agree Mizzou went conservative; but some of that may have been due to Lock throwing four INTs.

Some would argue that the game shouldn't have been that close at the end had Georgia not missed two easy field goals, Mckenzie hadn't dropped the pass in the end zone, and three other key passes hadn't been dropped.

Every team in the SEC East looks to have weaknesses this year, and I suspect many of the East games will come down to in game coaching and a one or two key plays.

I find it hard to believe that Richt's running game would have been so bad as to force that many throws. I also find it hard to believe he would have struggled to win a game with that big a turnover bias.

watching episodes of Undrafted on NFL network-- one kid, Farmer, a USC WR trying out at the Cowboys rookie camp... seems Doolz is in charge... he's throwing balls, telling kids good job, doing everything... he looks like he hasn't showered in a week ... that was our head coach? Lawd.

For those talking pass coverage, or lack thereof, in the last game in the red zone that cost a TD - it was Jumper's responsibility to drop into the zone of the pass. It was Abernathy's responsibility to pick up the actual man coverage. Neither did their job.

BrB is correct on many things - and 100% spot on with Butch giving up the control of the offense. He needs to sell and administer along with making the final calls on game day decisions. There needs to be a radical change in approach this season as well as to the scheme in future seasons. This offense is too easy to defense when the QB does not run regularly, or does not execute the reads correctly.

The good news is that the approach can change today. That will probably be all it takes to beat the Gators this weekend as long as our D plays at least as well as it has. Thankfully, UF is very weak and injured on O. So the two W's can be UF and UGA if the O is unleashed to do its job. The toss up is aTm and it looks bad at this stage going into Bama.
