I thought Basilio had a good point this morning- Byrd would have been great at CB especially now with Cams injury. Do you think they think about moving him or is it too late now? And Jennings too not being at safety is a head scratcher. Yes they have had a couple of good plays on offense but imagine how they could help out our defense now. Also wish Butch would come out today and instead of sounding woe is me we are decimated with injuries he would show some damn confidence in his players to win this game. These seniors and us fans deserve to feel a win against Florida. It's amazing how other coaches show confidence and it inspires their players. It's something Kiffin did here that I loved- he fired up the players and fans and they responded. And we didn't have the talent then that we have now. Butch is the polar opposite he'll come out with his tail tucked between his legs saying what a great challenge we have ahead of us. He must learn that the players respond to this language with playing scared. Hasn't worked for 11 years Butch needs to change his strategy now.

If Jennings and Byrd were on defense, what would the WR depth look like with Smith banged up?

FEI ranks us #16 ("Good"), Florida #60 ("Average").

Also ranks our opponents in the Above Average (VT), Average (Appy St) and Below Average (Ohio) categories, while Florida's three opponents all rank in the "Awful" category.

BCF Toys - 2016 FEI Ratings

This is a college football rating system based on opponent-adjusted drive efficiency. Approximately 20,000 possessions are contested annually in FBS vs. FBS games. First-half clock-kills and end-of-game garbage drives and scores are filtered out. Unadjusted game efficiency (GE) is a measure of net success on non-garbage possessions, and opponent adjustments are calculated with special emphasis placed on quality performances against good teams, win or lose.

Overall SOS ratings represent the likelihood than an elite team (two standard deviations better than average) would go undefeated against the given team's entire schedule. The table below also includes each team's record against opponent FEI ranking categories -- E for Elite (ranked 1-5), VG for Very Good (ranked 6-15), G for Good (ranked 16-30), AA for Above Average (ranked 31-50), Av for Average (ranked 51-70), BA for Below Average (ranked 71-90), B for Bad (ranked 91-105), VB for Very Bad (ranked 106-115), and Aw for Awful (ranked 116 or worse).

miracle to beat FL.... may only happen if backup QB actually plays for them and he stays frazzled. Will be a low scoring game because our OL will continue to flat out suck and get thrown around and on their arses. If the miracle happens, and we get JRM and Chance back, maybe we pull an upset between the hedges, but it will all be on our D.... A&M and Bama are big losses... we get the rest of our injured back for the end of the season cupcake run... depending on the miracle situations will tell whether or not we go to the SEC championship and get our arses handed to us a second time by Hurts... we go to a descent bowl game. If we lose 3 out of the 4, which is highly expected with the lack of performance and injuries thus far, we go to a low tier bowl and squeak by with a demotivated performance. Recruiting will slow to a crawl and the sunshine pumpers will try and make excuses... Mahoney and maybe, just maybe, Debord finally get their walking papers... we sign a very heavy 3* class and sink into mediocracy again.... the sunshine pumpers come back out to make excuses for the coaching staff and say brick by brick, even if we are building an out-house... 2016 season and '17 recruiting class in the books.. hit the reset button.... Butch gives a bunch of coach speak about buying in and it being a building process that takes time, all the while other teams rise and prosper. The same highly touted players we recruited have another "growing" year according to Butch and continue to under perform and do not develop. We blink and we are in year 5 with this conference USA coach and staff and we have become a tick above the Miss St, KY, Vandy, and Mizz of the SEC... cool. But Butch and staff have been worth every million... August 2017, please someone come back and tell me I am not dead nuts on... It is what it is... no sugar coating

One thing I don't understand about our offense is why we don't go fast more often. I understand not wanting to tire your defense out but it seems like our offense gets in a good rhythm when we go fast instead of this clap look to the sidelines change the play clap again then run the play crap.

Butch had us fired up last year and beat the ugly out of Oklahoma and Florida for three quarters. Depth and a coordinator got us in trouble. Get outta here with this. Butch can fire his team up.

Sack up, VolNation. It's Florida week!!!!!

This is the narrative literally every year preceding this game. Hope our early season tests have manifest into something special to flip the script.

Does anyone know if Cam's injury will set him back at the Combine and in offseason draft prep? Certainly hope not.

Also, everyone needs to constantly say, "it's never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems". This is the theme of the offseason/season for our fanbase.

All off season I came in here and said a 10-2 season would be a very good year and got laughed off the boards with, WE STACKED, 15-0, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO BE A FAN OF A GOOD TEAM, ect. But I knew that we didn't have this overwhelming talent level, we have, for the first time top 1/3rd of the SEC and top 12-15 talent in the country. That doesn't qualify you to dominate every team you play, it just lets you be in every game you play.

I think a lot of our fans forgot that and are really too far down after the somewhat sluggish start. Good teams struggle to win games sometimes and it doesn't mean we just all of a sudden became the 2013 Vols roster again.

We have a team with equivalent talent overall with a back up QB coming to our house this weekend in a game that we've been waiting for since the opening kick of the App St game this year. I really think you see a great performance and we are able to get the win. I think we ride that momentum to another big win on the road in Athens. After that happens still remember the quote "it's never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems". Because even if we do get these W's and start 5-0 we will still have a ceiling this season of a very good top 10-15 team and will likely get 1 or 2 L's the following weeks and that should not set off mattress burning.

Enjoy the build of this program. Going 10-2 and taking another step in the rebuild is not a bad thing.

The idea is that by lining up immediately you prevent the defense from subbing, and they have to show how they're gonna defend whatever formation we line up in. And then we can change the play into something that should take advantage of the defense.

Itll be so ugly both the winner and loser of the game will drop out of the top 25.

I would be thrilled with the prospect of winning and becoming unranked. I fly into Nashville Wednesday to attend my first Florida game since the "catch" in 2000. There will be a reckoning this Saturday.

I would be overjoyed with 10-2 now.

I never thought the OL would be dominant, but I thought it would continue its progression and pick up where it left off after 2015. Basically, an average SEC offensive line that occasionally plays poorly and occasionally plays great. Instead, it's one of the biggest glaring weaknesses on the team.

And now we've got major injury issues to deal with as well.

Dobbs remains the most important player on the team by far. He will be the most dangerous player on offense for either team on the field Saturday and can easily win that game by himself if the coaches unleash him.

The way our OL has been playing, I think the clap and check the sideline is the way to go. It gives everyone a chance to read the defense and adjust the blocking assignments if needed. Plus it does give our defense a few extra minutes of rest in case of a three and out.
