I thought it was pretty hilarious and got everyone fired up as expected... love the folks thinking I am crazy.. I just put a lot of thoughts of a lot of folks all together in one post...
The Scary thing is that all this could actually happen... Going against a backup QB making his first start this year in Neyland...that might just get us a win. If we can get a few guys back, I still think we can pull an upset in Athens... A&M and AL are just losses.

I really think this game comes down to who wants it more and ball security. Butch will have the boys fired up and the fans will bring it in Neyland. I think our D brings the ruckus and causes 5+ turnovers and we don't turn it over once. With short fields the offense continues scoring mostly TD's in the red zone and we score early and often forcing the backup UF QB's to throw to try and keep up.

45-10 Vols

This gives our team the confidence they've needed and we go take care of business in Athens and College Station. Undefeated when Bama comes to town. Our season started slower than we all anticipated but we're still undefeated and with a statement this weekend, it's all back to where we saw the season going. Hold steady, VN. It's time for our return to greatness...

I could see this happening. I know the injuries are concerning, but I see this team improving and I think the OL clicks this week at least in the run game.

UF is going to stack the box and I think we have some very interesting run concepts up our sleeve to keep this interesting. I formation, misdirection, RPO's.

Debord is gonna be in the press box at 3:30 Friday afternoon going over his play list waiting for kickoff to come.

Does anyone know if Cam's injury will set him back at the Combine and in offseason draft prep? Certainly hope not.

Also, everyone needs to constantly say, "it's never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems". This is the theme of the offseason/season for our fanbase.

All off season I came in here and said a 10-2 season would be a very good year and got laughed off the boards with, WE STACKED, 15-0, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO BE A FAN OF A GOOD TEAM, ect. But I knew that we didn't have this overwhelming talent level, we have, for the first time top 1/3rd of the SEC and top 12-15 talent in the country. That doesn't qualify you to dominate every team you play, it just lets you be in every game you play.

I think a lot of our fans forgot that and are really too far down after the somewhat sluggish start. Good teams struggle to win games sometimes and it doesn't mean we just all of a sudden became the 2013 Vols roster again.

We have a team with equivalent talent overall with a back up QB coming to our house this weekend in a game that we've been waiting for since the opening kick of the App St game this year. I really think you see a great performance and we are able to get the win. I think we ride that momentum to another big win on the road in Athens. After that happens still remember the quote "it's never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems". Because even if we do get these W's and start 5-0 we will still have a ceiling this season of a very good top 10-15 team and will likely get 1 or 2 L's the following weeks and that should not set off mattress burning.

Enjoy the build of this program. Going 10-2 and taking another step in the rebuild is not a bad thing.

Thank you for writing this.

Thank you.

Y'all are averaging like 4 fumbles a game man

UF has 16 sacks and a gang of pass rushers w/ great secondary behind em

There will be turnovers

The idea is that by lining up immediately you prevent the defense from subbing, and they have to show how they're gonna defend whatever formation we line up in. And then we can change the play into something that should take advantage of the defense.

Thanks for the reply. It just seems to me like every time we go fast we start to move the ball and then when we slow down bad things happen. There was q point in the game on Saturday where the announcers even said we looked better going fast and then said something about us giving Florida a look at our tempo package.

The sequence I'm thinking about was the drive where we ended up running a qb draw on 3&18. We had a big run from Hurd then ran a war screen and then dons overthrew Malone deep. I think when we hurried up the d couldn't quite get set and it helped the offense. I know last year when we beat Uga one of the big things that helped us was us running 90 some plays and tiring their defense out. Even in the bowl game against northwestern we went fast and the offense clicked well that game too. I think as an offense we can overcome the ol issues if we go fast and don't allow the defense to get set up.

I remember when butch first got here during one of our games the announcers were talking about how the coaches were challenging the team to get every play off with more than 25 seconds left on the play clock and every time they didn't the coaches had to do push-ups.

The way our OL has been playing, I think the clap and check the sideline is the way to go. It gives everyone a chance to read the defense and adjust the blocking assignments if needed. Plus it does give our defense a few extra minutes of rest in case of a three and out.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand it gives us a chance to read the defense but every time we audible I suspect the d does some kind of audible so isn't it kind of counterproductive because we lineup and show play a then audible to play b wouldn't the defense change to play b when they see us audible.

Maybe I am overthinking this but if I were a defensive coordinator and an offense lined up to read my defense then changed I would dictate what they do by giving them certain looks for instance I would line up with nobody in the box but when they audible I would bring an extra guy in the box if the offense takes to long on the first audible then they will be stuck in a bad play against my defense.

On the flip side if an offense goes fast and I can't get my players lined up correctly then it doesn't matter what I call there is going to be an open hole somewhere.

One thing I don't understand about our offense is why we don't go fast more often. I understand not wanting to tire your defense out but it seems like our offense gets in a good rhythm when we go fast instead of this clap look to the sidelines change the play clap again then run the play crap.

That's a technique used to see where the defensive players are moving at the snap. It is used by many, even the great Peyton Manning. The benefits of going fast is to tire out the defense and not let them sub, but the detriment is that you run pre called plays without looking at the defensive scheme.

It's a chess match. Always been that way. There are pros and cons to most things you do.

Well....you have played possibly the 3 worst teams in FBS football.
2/3 of Tennessee opponents were pretty comparable and they've played horrible against their 2 cupcakes

Sorry not buying app st as anything more then a decent cupcake Miami made em look like dog ****

True but that's very uncharastertic of Butch Jones teams here at UT. I'm expecting that to tighten up considerably this week.

UF's competition so far has been awful. Doesn't really tell us all that much. And your backup QB has 19 career TD's and 19 career INT's. I expect him to throw a few INT's this weekend in Neyland after the Vols get up by double digits early. And our DL should cause a fumble or two as well.

sorry but you have played the most embarrassing stretch of three straight home games in major college football this yr. Theres really no denying that either. Florida and Baylor always play the most pathetic teams like 3 or four straight times to start a season.

Well, let's just wait until Saturday and see what happens. Game is played on the field, not a message board.
