****OSU and their coach. Although I kind of wish we had a coach like that. I appreciate what Butch has done here- we were in the gutter and he wanted the job and has worked himself to death nearly. He is as purple as ever. But, his offense and stupid decisions at times is not going to get us to the top. Debord was a monumental mistake. This offense needs a lot of tweaking to make it big in our conference. I don't know if Butch is willing to admit that and make necessary changes. The yards we had today was embarrassing. Kentucky played Bama better than us let that sink in for a moment.

I won't be surprised if we take a big hit to around 17 or 18. The Gators likely move ahead of us-- they control the SECE now. Ole Miss won't drop as much as we do, and Arky will move up, possibly in front of us. LSU will probably return to the rankings.

Today was painful but I'm don't think it defines our team, our season or our coaches. I really think the injuries killed us plain and simple. To suggest otherwise is to ignore plain reality.

I'm not certain we win that game if we had everyone in and healthy, but we certainly wouldn't have lost it 49-10.

I'm not hitting the panic button yet on this season. The final five will be a hard slog but I think we win them. We'll see how healthy we are in two weeks. I bet we look night and day better.

Our coaches going after smaller backers for speed is crazy. The Buckeyes Linebackers are big and can run. Same with Alabama at the position. Go get some playmakers at LB and be done with this nonsense.

Uhh we're recruiting those same guys and losing out to the likes of OSU and Bama on some of these studs.

Big, fast, athletic playmaking linebackers don't just grow on trees.

McKenzie left with a right arm/shoulder injury in the first half of the Tide’s 49-10 win, and he did not return. Later, McKenzie joined his teammates on the sideline --- albeit in his Nike-issued Tennessee warmups.

McKenzie was extensively examined on the sideline, before UT’s medical personnel escorted him into the locker room at halftime. While it appeared to be an arm or shoulder injury, sources indicated that McKenzie may have suffered a pectoral injury and could be out “a substantial amount” of time.

Chance Hall, Tennessee’s starting right tackle in four-straight games, also exited the game in the first half and received medical attention. Hall spent most of the contest with his right leg elevated on the sideline.

Likewise, starting left tackle Brett Kendrick exited with an apparent left-ankle injury, and he did not return. The absence of both forced the Vols to extinguish the planned redshirt for rookie Marcus Tatum, who finished the final two-plus quarters as Tennessee’s right tackle.

In sum, the Vols had four first- and second-year players on their offensive line for the majority of the game against Alabama.

Defensively, the Vols also were depleted by injuries. They did not have Darrin Kirkland Jr. back after Kirkland practiced and had been full-go earlier in the week. Kirkland tweaked his tender right ankle again in Wednesday’s practice, tried to go again later in the week and then was held out of dressing on Saturday as the Vols eyed the back-half of their season after next week’s bye.

Cortez McDowell also was not in the game at linebacker for Tennessee, which missed four linebackers in this contest. McDowell could return Oct. 29 at South Carolina; senior Jalen Reeves-Maybin underwent shoulder surgery late in the week and is not expected to play again for the Vols.

Also in the game, Kendal Vickers had to be helped off the field, and offensive skill players Tyler Byrd and Alvin Kamara also dealt with injury-related setbacks though both players returned to game action after being hampered by ailments.

No excuses. Those guys on the field still had Ts on their helmets. Change the game plan! A few more slants! Kamara, Hurd and Dobbs should have run the triple option. Blitz more, stuff the run and we win this one big! This was layup and we whiffed.

The OL is the real killer. The offenses we are about to play are all terrible and I think we can hold them each to 24 points or less.

But if we look like we did against appy state on offense these next five games are going to be a wild ride.

At what point do you start to question the strength and condition coach? Something clearly is not right. What the **** 😲

There are ways to mask and O-line besides running Hurd up the damn middle all game.

Speaking of Hurd, why did we change the gameplan completely with him back? What the hell was that?
