1. Adjusting Expectations: Before the season, when we all had cotton candy dreams of the playoffs, the talk was, "Is there any excuse for not winning XX amount of games." My opinion was always that this is a moving target, based on an abnormal amount of key injuries.
Just as a little recap, though we all know...

I may be missing some, but this is what we were missing from the fight today... against the best team in the nation, and I don't care who argues otherwise. Bama is loaded, and on even footing, it would have been a dogfight. With what we had, you got what we got.
We can let go of the playoffs, and look towards the SEC Championship, which is still within reach. Florida should lose again, with 3 possible SEC losses on the schedule, and it would be really nice for Bama to slip up and LSU or A&M to get in. I'm thinking that even with us near full strength, we wouldn't beat Bama. Hate to say it.
2. Win Out: Tennessee will be favored in every remaining game. I would be shocked if they lost any, but they need to get healthy, and stay healthy along the way. They are a couple of additional injuries from having a VERY difficult road ahead.
3. Your new 2nd favorite SEC teams: Most likely losses for Florida, LSU, ARK, UGA. Vol fans will have their eyes on each of those games, and one loss should be enough to get TN to ATL.
4. Offensive Offense: The losses on the OL were horrific, against the best defense in college football. It was exact recipe for what you couldn't have happen. Not running Dobbs and opening up the downfield passing game (he wouldn't have had time anyways) locked the BAMA defense down on our offense. Several read options were wide open for Dobbs, and for whatever reason, he missed it, or was told not to run. As we have seen, if you are going to run this offense, the QB has to keep the defense honest. The coaches failed to bring a game plan that would at the very least, give this team a fighting chance.
5. Linebacker woes: I was very concerned that the lack of depth at linebacker would be a serious issue. Yep. Colton Jumper had 3 tackles. JRM or AJ Johnson would have had 15+ in a game like this. We are hurting in the middle.
6. Player Development: Some players have developed nicely at UT. Others, for whatever reason have been so disappointing. Austin Sanders still cannot find the field after all of these years (finally played a little). Charles Mosley, in spite of being a mountain of a man, is nowhere to be found. We are dying for some LB play... sigh.
7. Next...After an incredibly needed bye-week, in which we hope to lose no more players to injury, the Vols face USCe. USC had a bye week this week, and play UMASS the following week, which is essentially another bye. It is in Columbia, and though the Vols will be clearly favored, this is a tricky game. In spite of not having a talented team, USC has not been blown out, and keeps games close. USC plays us very hard, and Muschamp has had our number.
