True. Last I heard, Jan 1 is the official transition date if things go as hoped. But Hart wants to stay longer and some are not totally against that. We don't need things to get any more hostile. Managing so many egos and balancing demands is tricky business.

But I do believe he would have listened to offers to upgrade.

No direct quote but someone from VQ posted he didn't understand why some fans didn't like him. That was posted here this week. Pretty sure it was Hubbs.

Wasn't his name floated, albeit weakly, for the Michigan job? It seems like every year it has been.

I don't think the coach ever talks a lot after the last game of the year. They're out recruiting.

I'm not happy with losing to Vandy or SC, but the last week VN has been on a witch hunt.

I'm trying to find quotes. After the Tech or USCe game I could have swore he said something along the lines of he "doesn't understand the negativity/frustration we're ___ & ___ in our last ___ games" etc etc


If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. It's not a "lie" you sensitive woman.

Also way to completely ignore the fact that Fort & Hubbs have said it multiple times.

You will not find that quote from Jones.

Hubbs said jones was surprised at how much frustration there was from the fans.

The main point is there hasn't been a quote directly or indirectly from him since Vandy. I think he is 100% aware of why there is frustration now after Vandy.

Complete different situation. The Fisher LSU story was out in national media being reported all over the place. You have to do something in that scenario.

In Butch case, it's only been on message board sites. Not ESPN/national media blasting articles daily on it. You don't make public statements to answer message board clutter. It brings up an issue to light for even more to see when you don't want them to. There hasn't been anything for either side to have to come out and say they support or don't support each otherZ everyone knows we aren't firing him.

It was but that was one job and the appearance was that Michigan might contact Butch not the way it's being portrayed that Butch's agent is shopping him around to anyone that would listen. Plus, Michigan can be viewed as a step up, Houston and Purdue not so much.

I think a lot of this started with Rucker and has been exaggerated.

Rucker did an interview on Memphis radio after SC game and said that he (Rucker) has warned CBJ about how fast the fans could turn on him. He said after SC, he could tell CBJ was frustrated at fan reaction.

He did not say Butch was thin skinned or angry with fans. He knew how passionate the fan base was but was surprised by the negativity.

IMO, I think the players are also surprised by the negativity. Before Vandy, CBJ allowed 5th year seniors do the Wednesday press conference. All of them were so happy with CBJ and talking about the difference in the program since CBJ took over. If anyone knows how bad it was it would be them and I think even they are surprised by the negativity. You could tell after Vandy how hurt and embarrassed they were to lose.

Not understanding the frustrations while the east was still obtainable is one thing. I was commenting on the bs line he was to dumb to Undertand it now that the east is lost and the sugar bowl. Very different situation and one I bet Jones understands perfectly fine.

When I think of "open", I think of screaming to rooftops for everyone to hear. He isn't doing that at all. He doesn't have his media connects pushing that narrative. If he did football scoop and Feldman would have said something but football scoop has only responded to one Purdue rumor and called it ridiculous to even think that's true. They are very tight with Butch.

Kicking tires through agent isn't openly shopping yourself. My biggest issue with him and this part is he was doing it the week of the Vandy game like a sleeze. Only reason so many people know all this is the AD is so in flux that it's loose lips everywhere because they don't have Hitman hart to worry about firing them.

CBJ has turned around a program that was on life support -the Vols. Do not be so sure that other programs would not be interested.
I think a lot of people have forgotten how bad it was under Dooley. No one wanted this job.

I recall so many post saying "i will never complain about 8-9 win seasons again".

It is in no way a surprise to me that those same posters have now flip flopped again.
