When you look at these records it makes you pause if you are realistic on the Butch hate. He had a better record coming in than those last three and though we hate winning eight games this year, he could be even better if next year he somehow wins 10 and really gets this going.

What I disliked most was just how bad these last few games looked on DT but my mind does goes back to first year D installation and then eventually so bad, we had DE's who had just learned at best how to play one position in a scheme learning a new one. S & C was a big mistake and may have had some to do with strength issues with turnovers. Has to get to point when you don't protect my football, you sit and watch a bit regardless who you are. Playing time is how you get attention and that goes back to where I have issues with how he is running the program. Put the best guys on the field regardless and protecting the ball and playing with good fundamentals is a big part of that.

Not a big fan of Pastner. I had tickets and pass for free offered to me but with all games coming up with kid, I had promised my wife to help do some things and had to say no. That was real hard.

I was impressed with Fulkerson and Williams. Both will be quality players. First time I've seen them in person and they appear more athletic in person than what I thought from watching them on TV. With two seniors and one junior, the future is extremely bright. Barnes is doing a good job so far.

Something else for you an Bruin to spar over. lol. Love both of their games. They will really be forces starting next season and are doing their share this year.

To think - a HOF type coach might actually know what he is doing. He did exactly what Butch did. Focused on the unpolished diamonds that fit his system best because he could not sell a 5* on a current and historically unproven program. Have success with this bunch and a couple years from now he will get his share of the higher rated.

All those older coaches in the Final Four virtually every year should tell people something. But it usually doesn't.

Actually changed my diet and exercised a little and went from 212 to 188 since August and still have hair. I would've wore something that was neither Tech or UT to that one. Was hoping UT won 10 games and Tech would get PJ fired so I could pull for UT in game one with no reservation. Now I don't know what to do but really want to see UT and Butch do something special because we can't afford to have him fail really. If he had a great year next year, he would get the appreciation and love here and perhaps have a good long run.

I sincerely hope it happens and would be best for all of us if it did but he is going to have to make the correct hires and get the heck out of the way. People say certain coaches have great players and most teams need that. If JG is that special like a Johnny M was then we could go on a run if D gets fixed just a little.

I believe he was not going to qualify academically so what good would it have done to hang on to him.

On the VQ podcast the other day they said butchs quote played well with recruits' parents. Apparently he gets some calls saying they appreciated that comment.

I agree butch does a good job of keeping our guys out of trouble and recruiting character kids but it's ok the win football championships too. Using that statement to avoid speaking about a disappointing season is what got him flamed.

Exactly, the two are not mutually exclusive. Character and championships are the expectations.

Apparently it is. Texas has lost a few commitments come signing day the last few years to OU specifically because they weren't going to get in. OU pretty much let's in anyone.

Brown has said himself his academics were bad and Tennessee told him the week before signing day that there was no way he was getting in. OU had no problem getting him in.

Read about Duvonta Lampkin (sp) and how he intentionally failed Spanish to get out of his LOI with TX to get into Oklahoma.

I don't know who to root for in this game. Bama is in whether they win or lose I imagine so them losing wouldn't keep them out of the playoff. But I'm so tired of them I want them to lose! But at the same time, I can't stand Florida and don't want them to be SEC champs! I don't know what to do
