It's OK to be upset about the season but to pine for a coach that hasn't had to compete in the SEC because they have done well in a lesser conference while being upset with Butch for not meeting expectations in the SEC is slightly hypocritical. Butch did well at all his previous stops and there was plenty of evidence that he could be successful at a higher level. Wanting to start over with another potentially good coach because our current potentially good coach hasn't met our expectations is the definition of hypocritical IMO. Love you too bro but we are angry with Butch and really need to step back and take a good long look at what we are asking for before we toss Butch to the curb for another lower tier FBS coach.
The voice of reason.
Coaches learn and grow from the challenges they face. This season is the first time CBJ has not experienced an upward trajectory as a head coach. He knows adjustments need to be made. Let's see if he can make those corrections before we completely write him off.
In his biggest season, with his his best chance to win..Butch lost to the two worst teams in the SEC..with everything on the line. He crapped the bed, then he started looking for another bed to crap in, instead of changing the sheets. Love you man, but I'm not a hypocrite. I'm just so freakin ticked off that I can't see straight.
Mason got over the "We don't need your permission" fail. Only took a couple of significant victories.
Yep. If I had to put money on it today I'd say he loses 7 games next year and we are looking for a new coach. I just think he's lost momentum and things seem to spiral out of control fast here.
But with that said, I'm legitimately pulling for him. I hope we win the bowl, land some great assistants, sign a top 10 class and win the sec east next fall. I'd love to be wrong and I think it would be better for the program if I was. I'd much rather win today with the guy we have then take a chance another coach - seems like such a crap shoot when you change coaches.
Vols putting a whooping on the Yeller jackets. 74-48 3:39 to go.
Saw it on http://bmx-tv.net/sports/. Good back-up for stuff the other providers don't carry.
Quick to the ball, quick hands, rebounded well, ran the offense well including transition. Even Evans got 19 minutes and they are going to need him more down the road. Played intelligent basketball. All of it without Bone and Schofield. Of course they were going against Pastner, which made it easier. But still a really good performance.
