But you can't go by other teams wins and losses, or that means that Vandy is better than Florida, Virginia Tech, NC Auburn and Texas AM.

I believe Penn state is in they only lost one conference game and beat osu and won the conference championship.

The two most prevalent bowl matchups according to this site (so take it with a grain of salt) appear to be:

Tennessee vs Nebraska in the MCB

Tennessee vs Georgia Tech in the Gator Bowl

Thoughts on either/both?

Nope, they want that OSU/Bama match up in the title game.

It's going to be interesting how they would spin putting them in over the team that beat them and won their conference. Right now Penn state is playing as good if not better football than osu.

The Nebraska matchup is cool because it is two great national brands and historic blue bloods facing off.

GT is an old time Vol rival so any game against them is fun. Would be nice to get test ourselves against the triple option in anticipation of next year's season opener.

The last projection I saw was VOLS playing Minnesota in the MCB.

My eye test says that Clemson is the worst of the four teams, and it should be Alabama, Ohio State, Washington, Penn State.

Agree on last sentence. Clemson is not that good. Both healthy, we win by 13+.

Nothing new, but the consolation to missing out on ATL is less weeping and gnashing of teeth today.

Florida got ran out of the building, and current state, we would have been done the same

I'll take it one step further and say I also think Oklahoma is probably better than Penn State and definitely Clemson. It may have worked out before, but there needs to be eight teams in the running this year.

Alabama didn't even play remotely well on offense in the first half and still blew their doors off.

and unlike everyone else in the east, we have to play them every single year..

Basically we are in the same position as the SEC West right now. The rest of the East teams have it made in comparison.

I wish the man would retire. That team isn't human.

This is precisely the issue. If we're going to play them every year I'd prefer it's in the SEC championship game. They have been the only constant in the west for 15 years and historically and our path to a championship is always going to be more difficult.

2 options would be:

1. Hire a top 4 coach and pay whatever
2. Cancel the cross divional set opponent

I think UT is going to have a great season in 2017. Just a feeling.

I hate Alabama. Not people, but the system of dominance they've established. I hate it. I hate their burgundy color. I hate their numbers on the helmet, like it's freaking 1912.

I hate the spoiledness of their fans, when games are given wins, and they still find ways to complain. I hate that they build the most talented team every single year, and we're all fighting for scraps from the table.

I hate that for the one slip up they have every couple of years, we can't be in the position to take one. I hate the system of corruption that has been built around the beast to keep it running, and the fact that the NCAA will likely never discover it

I hate that Nick Saban is really as good as he is, that he will never leave, and that he is stubborn enough to coach into his 90's

Battery is running low... And I hate that too

They don't have to answer for anything. They harp on the regular season and the eye test and admitted they got it wrong last year by the conference championship weight. Penn State has two losses and both were horrible. They get the rose bowl and should feel grateful after a tough win against a backup QB.

The ya-ya will continue, but this is absolutely the correct decision.

He's already there - Kirkland. He just needs to be healthy. They need to find a few out of the other 10 LB's they have to step up.

I think Ohio St is. Their offense is terrible. I don't think they would score 10 points against Bama.

What cell phone service do you have?

8 team playoff would be awesome. No more, no less. Perfect for CFB IMO.

Where I am with it all. You've got a 99% shot of getting it right with this. That's all you can hope to do. Somebody will always whine, but if you can't get to the top eight - go away. Improve your schedule and/or performance.

If u take 8 who's in this year?
4 more teams will equal more problems especially since middle of top 8-15 are all pretty similar

If 8 team model were in place would you put USC in with 3 losses? Why/why not

So the conference championship game losers would be hurt by playing and losing their title game and likely not make it in But teams who didn't win their division would likely bump over them because an extra loss.

8 teams would not solve anything

There's gonna be years when it's not loaded with 8 great and deserving teams.

Les Miles won a national championship with two losses one year. And that was during the BCS era.

I think 8 removes the useless FCS game scheduling and they could go back to an 11 game schedule while making every conference having a championship game. The 11 game season helps every player on every roster to stay/get healthy as well as handle their classroom assignments. They have got to de-emphasize ESPN's control and the AD's hunger for more cash before they kill the goose that laid the golden egg. JMHO. It may actually help ESPN bottom line. They cannot be making money broadcasting garbage games with garbage teams on unknown to most of the public cable channels.

Music.City.Bowl. yes. Year 4 Butch. BSA. Bricks ya'll.

Not a chance on ever removing fcs games.

Even when the power 5 conferences end up seceding from the NCAA they will still schedule those teams

Those teams' entire athletic programs survive off those checks they get from the games
