I liked Cuonzo better than most, but I never thought it looked like we knew what we were doing on offense. Tyndall wasn't here long enough, but his teams appeared like they were just playing backyard basketball.

This team looks competent and well-coached. Good spacing on the court. They play hard. I think this could be a team that gets better and better as the year goes on. Don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but we might have a darkhorse NCAA tournament team.

Some don't agree, but I thought Tyndall was a good floor basketball coach. Just didn't have a chance to see how he would recruit.

Barnes is taking a different approach by building a program. We will still have growing pains this year, and I don't expect a whole lot. But the next couple of years could be fun. Athleticism is off the charts. I think the big guy we are adding next year is raw, but I think we need a long wing player too.

He is the only announcer that I truly can't stand. The others that bother me I can just block out but Ware is so depressive about everything he calls that he can make a touchdown sound like a national tragedy.

I've been vocal about Jones after Vandy. I think Jones needs to go hands off and be a CEO with great OC and DC if he wants to be here past 2017. That being said.....

I really think that ESPN ranking is important. People have gotten used to rivals but rivals doesn't have a 24/7 tv station that everyone watches. I think landing the #1 player on ESPN is important for other players as well. Probably Jones most important recruit.

Is Peyton the last time we landed a national #1? I can't remember any others although I've only been seriously following recruiting for the past 4 years or so.

So apparently Tennessee played FIVE FBS Divisional Champions this year... :thud:

Ironically, five is also the number of starters who actually managed to play every game.

Bball team is fun to watch, have very little expectations this year and just watching the guys play not being overly mad if they lose is kinda nice.. wish they would.make the tournament bit don't know if it'll.happen

Don't think Peyton was even #1. Not even top QB. Ithink it was josh booty that year. Orlando pace was in front of him too.

I believe Dan Kendra was the top QB.

Edit: that was 1994...Josh Booty was 1993.

I don't know, tbh. Rankings and just recruiting info in general wasn't as readily available back then as it is today. I know that Peyton's commitment ceremony broke new ground in recruiting coverage because one of the Knoxville radio/television stations had the crazy idea to send a reporter down to cover it. Prior to that, coverage like that by the media was pretty much nonexistent.

No one else has responded to you, so I'll do it. The whole gitshirt conversation is one we try not to get into other than very obtuse....non specific ways. We know they happen. We know more may or will still happen. We have learned (probably through trial and error) not to use specific names.

Believe it or not. Like it or not. Players and player;s family members.....recruits and recruit's family members DO read this forum. Since we don't always know which ones are or aren't, we have (for the most part) figured it to be better not to name specific names.

I don't think anyone is trying to be rude to you by not answering. I do think they are trying NOT to be rude to anyone that MIGHT be reading.

This is the RF, not the FF.

He had a scope done on his knee just prior to fall camp. From seeing him at that point he was not close to game shape, and I wouldn't be surprised if he still has some lingering issues with his leg that kept him from ever really getting game ready.

As an aside, in the spring I'm going to start working in a student position with UTSports so I might be able to bring some information from time to time when I'm not busy creating content. I haven't posted as much anyways recently, and that trend will probably continue.

I know you probably didn't know this, but my son hung himself 2 years 4 months ago and I really do not like seeing this kind of post, especially around the holidays. I try to be a little less sensitive because I know a lot of people do not think anything about posting these type things as jokes. It is a tough time of the year for some though.

SO guys with us missing out on a couple of DT's because of grades, who else are we on and do you think CJ may have to go JUCO this late into recruiting? I am not sure or not seen if we have some we are on that hasn't made up their minds yet.

I will not hang up I am staying on line because I am important and I want answers NOW! :)

Sorry to hear that Maxwell. Can't imagine what you went through and I know it's something you never get over. Prayers for you and your family.
