Concur. I'm not a basketball expert, but we seem to have a discernible flow and purpose on both offense and defense. I liked Cuonzo better than most, but I never thought it looked like we knew what we were doing on offense. Tyndall wasn't here long enough, but his teams appeared like they were just playing backyard basketball.
This team looks competent and well-coached. Good spacing on the court. They play hard. I think this could be a team that gets better and better as the year goes on. Don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but we might have a darkhorse NCAA tournament team.
Some don't agree, but I thought Tyndall was a good floor basketball coach. Just didn't have a chance to see how he would recruit.
Barnes is taking a different approach by building a program. We will still have growing pains this year, and I don't expect a whole lot. But the next couple of years could be fun. Athleticism is off the charts. I think the big guy we are adding next year is raw, but I think we need a long wing player too.
