You are quite ignorant if you did not see the night and day improvement of Kongbo. Tuttle was near unstoppable before his injury. Kmac was starting to look like a SEC DT before his injury. O'Brian was good before he was stupid. Vereen was a good compliment to Barnett. Should I go on?

Interesting day of movement elsewhere.

Louisville and Miss St have traded DCs for some reason. Grantham to MS St and Sirmon to Louisville.

Phil Bennett to AZ ST as DC

Cal talking to Navy HC, Wilcox, Bill Musgrave etc

Mason still anchoring down at Vandy by taking his name out of Cal talk.

Cal WR coach to Ole Miss.

And still we have no announcement despite knowing Debord was retiring a while ago

Yeah I don't mean to say Atlanta or bust, big improvement tho is needed. Beat LSU, win minimum 9-10 regular season games. If it falls though into the 6-6/7-5 range, it's over imo

Doesn't compare to the disruption we have seen with other top DLs. It isn't because of lack of talent

I thought that year he got out of Maggitt was really impressive. Tackle production has been a bit underwhelming.

Don't really buy taking Barnett out of the equation. That's basically changing a variable in order to reach a specific conclusion.

I still think Shoop is getting too much of a pass on here. Injuries or not continuing to call the game the same way regardless of results was insanity. It's easy to pile on the assistants, but he needs blame as well.

I don't think anyone is giving him a full pass but he does deserve a second year with his own guys.

He improved the defense a ton tho between Vandy and Nebraska. Shoop didn't come to TN and forget how to coach defense

This is laughable... Stripling gets all the blame when **** goes bad but when a player is good....no no no he had nothing to do with it.

Stripling is a good coach. Our top 3 DTs were solid, if not spectacular. Had Obrien, Tuttle, and KMack stayed healthy and on the team, I think our w/l would have been different. Sure, the backups need more work. A lot more; they were not ready to step into starting roles. I want to see more improvement in fundamentals for all of our defensive tackles, but common sense dictates that the 2's and 3's are not going to be what the 1's are.

Did you not see the first portion of the season where he made some of the best halftime adjustments of any UT DC I've seen in a long, long time?

Between Martinez having no idea how to coach a DB and losing all of our DTs, I honestly believe there was zero chance that our Defense could be even serviceable.
