Anthony Lynn did not get the HC gig at Buffalo...throw all the monies at him!!!!!!!!!!!
I expected this after how bad they lost in his interim game. He had the job and lost it there. They freaking even fired Rex not to lose Lynn then don't even hire him. I thought we were a dumpster fire but Buffalo Bills even worse of one. Lynn will stay NFL as either OC or HC. He has interviewed a few places.
Crazy what one game and the timing of that game can do. He is buffalo HC if they win and play close. Kevin Steele would have been TN DC under Dooley and Dooley might have survived. Larry Fedora is prob HC at Oregon or somewhere else if he doesn't lose bad to Nc ST and Butch is his replacement if he doesn't lose to Vandy. Crazy how the world of what have you done for me lately works.
How would people feel about this staff?
Offense
OC/TE : Scott
OL : Wells
RB : Gillispie
WR : Azzani
QB : Canales
Defense
DC: Shoop
LB : Sirmon (Nevermind, he is about to be announced as Louisville's DC)
DL : Hoke
DB : Barlow
* Stripling moves to supervisory role so he doesn't have to go on the road, but still gets to help team.
Special Teams Co : Azzani
Strength and Conditioning : Gullickson
I think that Defensive staff would be a 1,000,000% upgrade while also being good-great recruiters. Have no clue on who would be in play for LB, but I can't imagine them being a coaching downgrade from Thig.
The offensive Staff is a bit of a wash, though I believe that having anyone for QB coach is better than not having one. Though I believe that Azzani is gone sooner than later, I don't believe it is this year. I think to appease him for one or two more years he will get the Special Teams Co tag and a bump in pay.
Also, I love Gullickson. I think he is going to do wonders for our teams conditioning and discipline.
Good article. On behalf of the misnamed and offensively maligned "negavols" I am prepared to accept the surrender of all self anointed "posivols" and "truefans". Just go ahead and post your willingness to replace Butch for the good of the program and we can all be in the circle together.
I think Canales is a good hire and the best fit for QB staff if Scott is promoted to OC. Were not gonna find a QB coach that's exciting AND experienced because they get promoted to OC faster than just about any other offensive staff position. So butch is looking for someone with years of experience coaching in multiple systems.
While Weinke and Dorsey are flashy names, they don't have the experience that Canales does and I think there is merit to the argument that you want to add a more veteran coach on the offensive side of the ball. Especially if the change from Mahoney to Wells happens. That would be a very young offensive coaching staff
You think Dobbs is a first round pick
