Oh. I am not a couch potato. It's just that running hurts. Even with my meloxicam and turmeric. I still exercise. I just have to do other stuff. I do HIIT routines to substitute for my cardio.

Good alternate choices.
Omega 3 fish oil works great for me. Can't take NSAIDs.

By the way, wasn't implying that you were a couch potato.

Just thought it interesting that for decades docs preached against running due to arthritis when the opposite is more likely true.

My issue is the cartilage on the back of my kneecaps is no longer smooth. It rubs against my knee joints causing pain and inflammation. Any sort of repetitive motion like running, biking, or elliptical will irritate my knee joints. Walking seems to be ok though. The Army still thinks I should do the 2 mile run for my APFT though. Oh well.

Have you tried a steroid shot?
A PRP injection?
A Stem cell injection?
:hi:

You could also get 2000 grit sandpaper and smooth it out again.
Getting your dremel in there really hurts...
:)

Hey Doc, are orthopods using Prostride or Nstride any in joints? It may only be an equine product...not sure. We are using it a fair amount in horses with great results. Are also using PRP a good bit, especially in soft tissue injuries.

Not in my group.
Maybe we could try it with Glitch?

I wish that I could like it more than once. I watched all 3 very moving videos. Thank you for sharing and I would also ask all of VN to please remember all of our fallen servicemen and servicewomen who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country.

My doc in Indiana was just treating it with Meloxicam. Nothing else.

I'll give the dremel a shot.

Too white...

Can't you see? He got the teeth from his dad and the teeth color from his mom. His brother is just the opposite, but he's camera shy due to his green/yellow shark teeth.

Thanks to McElwain, the shark community is re-evaluating it's stance on abortion.

I had my last synvisc injections in March and they only could inject about half a dose. VA ortho says time for New joints. They are aiming for partial, but tore left knee PCL ling time ago, so I'm thinking they'll need to do complete replacement. Right isn't as bad, maybe two years behind left. Surgery is 10 July.

Well written, thanks. Here's to our fallen comrades.

I would take that next step.
Try an injection. Can be a huge difference.

Agree. I wasn't able to run again, but everything else was much better, including some long distant hikes. Also squats with moderate weights and other exercises focused on keeping the knee muscles strong help tremendously.

Well, I'm back from my cruise. Vol Nation was representing pretty well.

Also, talked to a UGA fan on the cruise that believed UT would win the East. He didn't see many games we couldn't/ shouldn't win and likes how our schedule lines up. He also was complimentary of the talent that Butch has compiled.

He is of the opinion that finding a coach that is a proven recruiter is of the highest importance. It is part of why he thinks that even though he doesn't understand how we didn't win at least 10 games last year, that we should continue to let Butch develop as an SEC headcoach.

Is your VA associated with a med school?
Dallas VAMC has all the Ortho professors who are phenomenal surgeons.
Post-op rehab is as important as the surgery. Requst/demand that PT get you up on the same day as surgery. The quicker you get moving, the better you will do.
My partners ' patients go home day 2 or 3. They have significant functional gains much quicker than when patients stayed in the hospital for a week.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Doesn't sound like a real UGA fan. They are all homer douchebags. It is known.
