Sure, we might be young in some areas but not good enough of an excuse to win less than 9, sorry.

Dormady is a Junior and this is JG's second year in the program, youth not a good excuse for QB. Inexperience? Sure. But those guys are very talented 4 stars with nationwide offers. Time to live up to it.

OL is deep, experienced and not young.

WR's and RB's are young and inexperienced for the most part but that's not as big of a deal at skill positions. Lots of talent and Kelly at RB is plenty experienced. Just stay healthy and we're fine there.

TE isn't young or inexperienced.

DL is deep and talented with plenty of upperclassman and some young guys, again, just need to stay healthy.

LB has plenty of upperclassmen depth and experience but likely the biggest question marks due to lack of production behind DKjr.

Secondary has plenty of depth and talent but like LB question marks with production but that's why Warren was hired.

Kicking game should be at the top of the league, again.

I'm not seeing many good excuses for a 7-5 type season unless we have another year of mass injuries which isn't likely with Rock around. Butch upgraded all over the staff and we should expect those guys to make a big difference on the field in terms of wins. We've won 8 regular season game two years in a row and should have won 9-10. Are we really expecting to go backwards in year 5? I'm not. I know we lost some talented players but we have plenty of talent behind them, recruiting has been Butch's strong suit.

10+ regular season wins isn't too much to expect with this roster and staff. I don't care what the media says. And that brings up a good point, expectations are lower nationally, most expect UT to finish 3rd in the East. But UT fans know better. I'm expecting to win the East and close with a top 5 class.

I'm betting that for Butch, young = inexperienced

If this team stays healthy, a good coaching staff could absolutely get 10 wins out of them. A great one might even run the table or go 11-1.

No reason this roster should win fewer than 8 games against this schedule unless there are serious injury issues

But even though we had serious injury issues, worse than I've ever seen, 9-4 wasn't good enough last year...

Dangerous for Butch's famous "coach speak" .... it will potentially eliminate any excuses... We either get it done or we don't.... we all now know if we didn't already, we have the talent, now will it be developed and maximized?...

So? Nothing's changed. When have you guys ever considered "excuses". Once again, nothing's changed. :hi:

Talent is great and all, but inexperienced talent is going to cost you somewhere. Neither QD or JG have ever been in a live fire situation where important games are on the line..I hope somebody rises to the occasion, but expecting them to is a different story. I think 9-10 wins is a reasonable expectation, but if the QB position becomes a real weakness due to OJT...we are in trouble. I agree with Bass.

No, it wasn't.

See.. so lets not act like if Butch has serious injury issues and we finish 8-4 again that everyone will be understanding. they won't be. IMO, Butch wins at least 10, probably 11, last year if we're healthy. We certainly don't lose to SC and Vandy, and I'm betting that we beat aTm with a healthy defense. Heck, we almost beat them anyway.

SC and Vandy were inexcusable losses last year, and would be this year too.

I'm not pretending, because I'm not understanding of last year. I'll be much more inclined to be understanding this year if we lose to Bama, UGA, LSU, and say, Ga Tech to finish 8-4 than last year's 8-4.

I like this but it can also be potentially dangerous... removes any excuses Butch and Co can make. The staff will be expected to maximize the development of this talent, which is definitely doable... 8-9 wins should definitely be reasonable goals/expectations.

What excuses should he have in year 5?

I would love to see UGA lose their opener to Appy State. After all the smack talk I heard from some UGA fans last year from our disappointing performance against them, it would be sweet justice.

I could see 8-4 for UGA. It's going to take a lot for them to go 10-2.

Their realistic floor and ceiling are probably identical to ours. 8-4 to 11-1. Unless the wheels come completely off or they catch every single break, I'm positive they will finish in that range.

south carolina has a brutal schedule...NC State is gonna be good.

vandy also has a tough one. I agree about UF and i never believe anything ab UGA. Bringing back a bunch of underachievers from a 5 loss team and still have no O Line. The east is still wide open.
