Their realistic floor and ceiling are probably identical to ours. 8-4 to 11-1. Unless the wheels come completely off or they catch every single break, I'm positive they will finish in that range.

Agreed. I don't think Kirby is good enough to get them to a 11-1 but who knows. I think they lose at least 1 game they shouldn't and I think they lose at least 2-3 toss up games.

UK again benefits from an easy SECw draw. They're spotted Miss St and Ole Miss; add projected wins against Vandy, SCAR and Mizzou and they have the easiest path to 5-3. UGA draws Miss St, too, but the Dawgs running the table in the SECe is wishful thinking.

Every year

Although they may not get by Miss State in starkville though or Ole Miss. I cant imagine a scenario where Shae Patterson and those Ole Miss WRs wont score a million points on UK.

Can someone explain to me the auburn hype without using the words stidham or petway

I think the defense is the key with Auburn. Surprised a lot of folks last year. They played Clemson better than Bama w/o a QB. If a certain QB transfer from Baylor plays as well as he did previously, Auburn could be dangerous.

There. I didn't mention Stidham or Pettway.

its crazy. Its like ppl just forget every off season that UK defense will give up 45+ to EVERYONE lol

UK has a very, very favorable SEC schedule, perhaps the easiest in the entire conference. Tennessee and UF at home, the Mississippi schools as crossover opponents. I doubt they go 5-3 but I can understand why some think they could.

I think it is Malzahn + Stidham ("the guru has a QB") with a competent D. Plus they were looking very solid midway through last season until the injury bug got them.

This will be make or break for the Gus Bus. I bet they fire him if they don't live up to the hype.

i dont understand why anyone would think they would personally. They give up 50 every damn game. I dont think they are better than Ole Miss or maybe Miss State right now. Nobody has seen anything from UK that should warrant any of that thought. It makes no sense.

This is complete garbage of course, but look at SC lol

SC will not even be close to finishing 1-11. Offense is dangerous and if they figure out their DL they could be the dark horse in the east. I think the SEC is going to be really fun to watch this year. So much talent especially at the QB position. I'm excited because no one's talking about us but I think WGWTFA this year (barring injury). UGA and Florida disappoint, TN and SC surprise

i dont buy that. they are about a 6-7 win team again max. schedule is brutal.

Thread has been MUCH improved the past couple of days. See... good football talk and discussion can happen during June! :) For someone like me who doesn't give a rats rear about the NBA, I'm glad the NBA talk is over.

June is rough in this thread. Always picks up after the camps. Not much football to discuss until then.

No gimmes, but they'll never have an easier path. Had it last year, too, allowing them to tie for 2nd with UT and UGA, both of whom played far tougher schedules. Still, it's hard to see UK capitalizing on every opportunity to finish 5-3, ahead of UT. Unlikely, IMO.

At the end of the day they probably end up 7-5 but don't be surprised if they end up having a good season. Bentley is a good QB, they're three deep at RB and TE, and their receiving core is deep lead by Bryan Edwards who's a great, young player. They're going to be intriguing to watch

Florida has 5 losses on the schedule, imo. Mich, LSU, UGA, Vols, FSU. They also have a chance to lose to TAMU.

UGA is weird. I think they arrive at 8-4 with a win over UF and with losses to Vols, Auburn, Notre Dame, and GaTech.

My guess at how the East ends up is:

Vols
UGA
SCar
UF
UK
Vandy
Mizzou

Lot of hype in here for a SC team that went 6-7 last year with losses to MS State, KY, and USF. They needed our absolute worst day on offense last season to beat us. That won't happen again. Bentley is okay, I'm betting another 6-6 but could very well be 5-7 or worse if they lose to Ky. They won't beat us, Ga, Florida, Clemson, Arkansas or aTm, and probably won't bear NC State.

Bold prediction: SC beats Clemson this year in Columbia. Clemson's offense is god awful. They'll be like the 05 Vols.
