Kendrick is serviceable and I agree with the LEADER aspect. He's also a matador waiting to happen...dating back to when he was a RS Freshman but still with his current status.

I will be a little surprised if Thomas doesn't start, especially since he is a senior. I know he gets criticized, and he didn't play well at the beginning of last year. But I think that was on the coaches trying to force him to play with an injury.

His play was very good in 2015 when he was able to get to the perimeter. I will never forget the pin and pull that they ran that year and reading how it worked. Thomas was always out in front on that.

I think that there is enough talent on the O-line that people lose track of some of these guys. I'll be honest, Thomas had completely slipped my mind.

I'm in the best 5 start but unless Hall shows he's outright better, which he very possibly could, it's going to be Kendrick. I also forgot about Thomas, but there was just something there with Robertson at center during the short ow game

Hall is WAVES better...when he's healthy. That's the rub. Of course Kendrick isn't exactly an iron man in that aspect.

Take it with a grain. That crew also champions Kendrick. :pinch:

I get your point and am not going at you. Just going to use your post to address an issue that gets lost on posters on here. It's off season and nothing much to talk about.

Kendrick, Thomas, Wiesman and Robertson played from fall camp through the season with lingering serious injury issues. FWIW, Kendrick had a high ankle sprain. He practiced and played anyway.

On D, Phillips had a high ankle sprain like Kendrick from fall camp on. Kelly - knee injury in camp. Vereen - all sorts of limitations due to injuries. Then add in all the guys that missed the season or large parts of it.

We talk about injuries causing the dive last season, which is the truth. We don't talk about why it happened that bad. Our players tried harder than most ever credit them with regarding their performance and playing hurt. It was that bad because of the sorry S&C with a small help from the players' council. It was not the physical nature of practices. They are fast paced and physical. That over a dozen guys would have to sit out for injuries or wear green jerseys every practice hurt team performance. The final point is that every team needs quality depth to overcome a rash of injuries even with the better S&C's. The depth on the roster was not developed well enough to overcome the injuries last season. Should have been, but wasn't. That was proven in the losses to USCe and Vandy. When they got a few guys back and healthier leading up to bowl practice they thrived again.

All of that to say this why Butch addressed these issues immediately after the season. New and NFL proven S&C, players' council input has been redefined, hired assistant coaches known as strong developers of talent. Check. Good to go.

Either Azzani is the biggest person in the world, or he has no inkling of Swain's agenda towards him.

It was posted on here that there were reasons tee needed to get away from the Knox area. If that's truly the case it's probably for the best he went to Clemson. It sucked missing out on him but as fans we shouldn't hold a grudge against the guy. He made his decision and I hope he has a successful career.

This may already be well known, but Jesse Simonton at VQ is adamant that Trey Smith starts day one on the OL. Pretty impressive considering the depth we have and that he's only been through one spring camp here.

I had him pegged for a redshirt. Almost all OL need one

Pleasantly surprised
