I'm not sure if this is a topic that's already been beaten into oblivion, so pardon me if it is..

Do you think it'll be easier on our OL without a straight scrambler like Dobbs at QB? Maybe having QD as QB will clear out some confusion as far as moving the line or going into pass-pro?

I mean, we did get beat a lot last year just off the snap.. but two seconds into a play not know what tf Dobbs was thinking couldn't have made it easy to recover.

What are y'all's thoughts?

Dobbs saved us last year. The offensive line was at best inconsistent at pass pro last year. Have to hope it's better this year or things could get ugly (I'm confident that won't happen though)

Armchairs don't realize how much olinemen hate that. Don't get me wrong Dobbs did good, but not knowing where your QB is going be in 3 seconds makes it hard to know where to lead your defender.

Sensing pressure, moving around in the pocket, and getting the ball out faster are much, much more important than being mobile for pass protection. I get confused on here when we stress a qb needing to be mobile if the oline can't give them 20seconds.

With Dormady having played zero meaningful snaps we can't say atm.

I definitely agree there.. I rewatched the Battle at Bristol over the last few days at work, and we were getting worked in the first quarter. And don't even get me started on how futile the Bama game was.

Really surprising to me over the course of last year, Jashon seemed to either not progress at all from 2015, or he actually regressed. Hopefully he's up to prove himself in his Senior year.

Think he was banged up. Definitely played poorly.

Not untrue, but OL also love when a QB is athletic enough to make a defender miss after you blow an assignment.

I'd say there were easily just as many or more cases of Dobbs bailing out the OL over the past two seasons than cases of him causing pressure by not staying put long enough.

OK. Here's something of a loaded question. Is it reasonable to question a backs durability in the offense the Vols are running? I suppose another way of asking is "how many touches does Kelly get a game this fall?"

It's going to shock some of the doubters on VN who think he's average.

He has some pretty great runs last year. You can help but love the drive he has every time he touches the ball. I know it's Tennessee Tech, but the run at 1:47 was impressive.
