The justice system bothers me so much. We take two sides who each have 0 interest in justice and hope they exactly cancel each other out in such a way that the end result lands on justice. Instead of having two sides both searching for the actual truth of a matter, we get two sides to avoid the truth at all costs and just hope that one isn't smarter or better at legal gymnastics than the other.

The part about neither side caring about justice is not always true, but it is a worthless system.

"Justice system" is a total misnomer. It's become a results oriented system that gives little consideration to whether the path to that result was the correct one.

Yeah I just could not imagine being a defense attorney arguing for then it guilty plea when the evidence is overwhelming that my client is guilty. I couldn't do that, don't know how anybody can and sleep at night. Don't know how OJ's attorneys lived with themselves

Did you watch the tape? Because comparing him to Jamarcus is just silly. He can actually make timing routes and isn't addicted to lean. Completely different players. I'm just stating what NFL scouts said. Not stating my opinion as fact... He plays like Joe Flacco

Russell actually was good in real SEC games not vanilla spring games. Stop disrespecting that man with a guy that hasn't even won the job yet.

I remember a really talented Tennessee team going into the swamp in '01 as about 3 touchdown underdogs. Guarantee the OBC remembers it as well. May have been Spurriers best team at Florida, top three at least.

Just seems like UT and Florida are pretty evenly matched. Considering UF had home field, a 4-6 point line seems more appropriate.

We've got more talent and it's not close. McElwain hasn't recruited worth anything.

It was posted on here that there were reasons tee needed to get away from the Knox area. If that's truly the case it's probably for the best he went to Clemson. It sucked missing out on him but as fans we shouldn't hold a grudge against the guy. He made his decision and I hope he has a successful career.

I honestly believed it then and believe it now. Some kids need to go away from home to truly grow up and thrive. It doesn't matter if they're student athletes or just students, male or female, for some staying close to home is bad for you or at the very least limits your growth as a person. For others, staying closer to home gives them the support system they need while allowing them the freedom of college. And for still others, staying close to home versus going doesn't matter as much. It all depends on the person.

I think he does too.

I'm just not sure if he's got the maturity yet to do all the rest as well as the other guy.

We don't know anything about either. That Spring Game defense was the most vanilla thing I've seen. QBs had one incompletion combined. They didn't let the secondary even attempt to press. Smh JG made one bad throw(his first in-game of any kind) then settled down. One sack would've happened if Dobbs was the QB. The other I'm confident he would've still been running. Dude barely touched his arm reaching out.

The bad throw didn't bother me too much. Always good to see how a young QB bounces back from one and I think he did pretty decently in that regard. He would've likely avoided that sack as well.

That being said, he just didn't look as in control as Dormady IMO. Granted, you're right and it was only a half of one scrimmage.

I definitely think Gurantano has the higher ceiling, I'm just not sure he's as close to his right now as Dormady is.

Either way the stuff goes, I think we'll see good QB play this year.

I mean he was handing the ball off. Made the tougher completion of the two. Also no passes were over 15 yards. So I'm no taking a thing from the Spring Game. One incomplete pass between the two should tell you all you.

And JG shouldn't be close to his ceiling. Kid has enormous talent. We should start him and grow him into what he really is as a player. If the two are close you always start the younger guy. He has more long term potential in your program.

I agree we shouldn't take too much from the spring game.

As for the latter part, I'm not so sure our coaching staff will be thinking 1-2 years ahead (or even a half season ahead, really) in regards to the QB battle. They'll go with the guy who they can count on to not make mistakes and get them early wins and/or to 8 wins safely right now over the higher ceiling guy who might struggle initially, IMO.

I don't think Butch has enough equity to take a chance with the QB battle. If we were coming off a trip to Atlanta or a 10-12 win season, I'd think there'd be a lot of motivation for him to maybe go with Guarantano in 2017 with an eye towards making a run in 2018. As things stand, there's just not much motivation to not take the safe route with the guy they're most comfortable with.

Especially if Shoop gets the defense right and the offense doesn't have to put the team on its back like in 2016, I'm kind of expecting to see a team that plays things a bit more safely and aimed to win games by avoiding turnovers and winning the field position battle in 2017. If that's what the coaches have in mind, Dormady is likely the safe bet for at least the early part of 2017. Maybe not necessarily our best bet long term. But I don't think Butch can afford to think too far ahead right now.

Of course, all speculation on my part.

That's the system, and everyone has the right to a defense. As a defense attorney, the ones that you have trouble sleeping over are the ones that get convicted and your client maintained his innocence and the proof wasn't strong. Heck, those DA's should have trouble sleeping, too. It's better to have 100 guilty people walking the streets than 1 innocent person serving time.

Anyway, I have 3 kids, so falling asleep isn't usually a problem😀

I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't just look it up.

In Josh Dobbs' senior season, he averaged more total yards per game and touchdowns per game than Tim Tebow did in either his Junior or Senior Season seasons.

Josh Dobbs also averaged more total yards per game and more total TDs per game in his Tennessee career than Peyton Manning did over his Tennessee career.

Dobbs is very underrated.
