I'm not even saying LeBron couldn't have been great in that era. He probably could have been.
I'm just saying he wouldn't be allowed to drive the lane all game back then. Like he does now.
He would have to alter his game.
His biggest issue would be the shortage he has of the one intangible Jordan had in abundance..Absolute desire to crush his opponent. He wouldn't gave to really alter his game, he would just have to grow the massive set of balls it would have taken to force his will. He would have been good in any era, but his particular game would have shortened his career by years, he would have taken a absolute beating every game. As elusive and silkily graceful as Jordan was, he got mauled. LeBron doesn't have that catlike flexibility. His stiffness would cause him a lot of hurt..But for the record, I think he would have been a good player in any era.
Lebron doesn't have the clutch gene. If there's a game that comes down to a last second shot in this series, Kyrie will take that shot. Jordan thrived when the game was on the line.
It would be nice to see osu lose 4/6 games, due to any reason you prefer...
When urbs was at uf, I actually rooted for bama every single time they played.
I will never forget or forgive that awful feeling.
Goals in the series
Pittsburgh 9
Nashville 9
Preds have outplayed them the entire series minus a period and a half.
Monday becomes the biggest game in their history.
I'm beginning to think Lebron stole your girl back in grade school or something...
In 1991 in the championship clinching game 5 against the Lakers, Pippen lead the Bulls in scoring.
In 1993 it was John Paxson who hit the game winner against the Suns in Game 6.
In 1996 Rodman was the best player in game 6 of the finals against Seattle.
In 1997 it was Kerr's turn to hit the game winner.
Jordan closed teams out in 1992 and 1998. However, as of last year Lebron has hit more playoff game winners and has a higher shooting percentage on those shots. I can't find a link to the stat but it's out there somewhere.
Jordan won a bunch of All-NBA Defensive Team awards and he was an excellent defender. He was never expected to guard five positions like Lebron. Also, if we're talking marquee plays Jordan's was his dunks. Lebron's highlight play is the chase down block.
Jordan's supporting cast included all-time great Scottie Pippen in each of his title runs. Rodman is a fringe all time great. Lebron has played with one other all-time great, Dwayne Wade, at a point in Wade's career when he was clearly not the player he was at a younger age. You can say that Ray Allen is an all-time great as well but 37 year old Ray Allen was significantly limited in his time with the Heat.
Jordan is still the best of all time but his perch is not untouchable. Lebron has taken a pretty decent shot at it and he's got a few more years to go. If you put him on ANY team in the NBA next year they go to the playoffs. He influences the game that much.
1. Jordan
2. Lebron
It's definitely a series again. Rinne stepped up big time. As a Pens fan, I am very concerned. I think that the Pens will have to sweep at home to win the Cup. I don't see them winning in Nashville at all. If they lose at home in Game 5, it won't go back to Pittsburgh. It has been a great series so far.
I can't swear to it, but I wouldn't be shocked if that chant and some of the atmosphere didn't have roots in some of those Knoxville Cherokees/Nashville Knights games.
Nashville's fans were nuts then.
