I'm a big Preds fan but, like my dad taught me, I don't go throwing rags at 6'3" inch professional athletes. Specifically not when they're wielding sticks.

Malkin obviously has some issues but I don't endorse bear-baiting.

And especially, especially when those athletes are six foot and three inch inches tall

Same applies even if it's a 5'7" athlete. Just because you purchase a ticket to a game doesn't mean you can throw stuff at athletes.

Seems like something you should have to tell your 7 year old son, not a grown adult.

The guy Malkin wielded his stick at was just a guy leaning over the rail and yelling. He didn't throw a thing at him, someone else from the opposite side and out of frame threw the rag. If I was the guy I would have wished he would have hit me, that's a nice settlement check right there.

Saban grew up in WV, just 90 miles from Pittsburgh. I am guessing he knows something about hockey.

Which furthers the point. If he grew up that close to Pittsburgh and is educated on hockey why is he wearing a preds jersey. Again....it's show for recruiting

I'm beginning to think Lebron stole your girl back in grade school or something...

In 1991 in the championship clinching game 5 against the Lakers, Pippen lead the Bulls in scoring.

In 1993 it was John Paxson who hit the game winner against the Suns in Game 6.

In 1996 Rodman was the best player in game 6 of the finals against Seattle.

In 1997 it was Kerr's turn to hit the game winner.

Jordan closed teams out in 1992 and 1998. However, as of last year Lebron has hit more playoff game winners and has a higher shooting percentage on those shots. I can't find a link to the stat but it's out there somewhere.

Jordan won a bunch of All-NBA Defensive Team awards and he was an excellent defender. He was never expected to guard five positions like Lebron. Also, if we're talking marquee plays Jordan's was his dunks. Lebron's highlight play is the chase down block.

Jordan's supporting cast included all-time great Scottie Pippen in each of his title runs. Rodman is a fringe all time great. Lebron has played with one other all-time great, Dwayne Wade, at a point in Wade's career when he was clearly not the player he was at a younger age. You can say that Ray Allen is an all-time great as well but 37 year old Ray Allen was significantly limited in his time with the Heat.

Jordan is still the best of all time but his perch is not untouchable. Lebron has taken a pretty decent shot at it and he's got a few more years to go. If you put him on ANY team in the NBA next year they go to the playoffs. He influences the game that much.

1. Jordan
2. Lebron

Kevin Durant is currently annihilating LeBron James when they are matched up against one another.

Please don't insult Michael Jordan by comparing him to this guy.

Lets see if he's even better than Kevin Durant before we start comparing him to Jordan.

I'll just tell you this. I never heard of Michael Jordan getting embrassed in a finals game by a guy who plays the same position as him like LeBron was in game 1 by Kevin Durant.

Do you watch basketball at all? Go look at the box score from Game 1 - Tristan had 0 points, JR had 3, and Iman had 5. Not to mention Tristan only had FOUR boards. Kyle Korver had zero points, as did Deron Williams. Kyle Korver, albeit a very good shooter, has never been the greatest 3 point shooter in the NBA and DWill is about four years removed from being an all-star. Lebron had 28/15/8 the other night. Kyrie had 24 and pretty much nothing else. Kevin Love put up 15 points and 21 rebounds. Lebron James has 2 talented teammates and a squad of role players that has shown up about 1/3 of the time this season. When the Cavs entire team is clicking, it gets pretty deadly - ask the Celtics in the previous series. The issue for Cleveland, aside from consistency from everyone, is the Warriors have 3 players who shoot above 40% from three. All 3 of those players are current all-stars, and that's not including Draymond (another all-star).
Several posters said it already, but some of you have an unreal amount of disdain for Lebron James. I've read countless posts in this thread where people are going to ridiculous lengths to bash the guy. It makes no sense to hate someone who has done no wrong (to the public's knowledge, obviously).

I actually love LeBron James the person. He is a great role model for young black men. I love how outspoken he is about civil rights issues in this country. I love the fact he has a black wife who he knew growing up. I love the fact he has 3 black children. I love the fact he brought along his childhood friends Maverick Carter and Rich Paul and made them business partners.

I have zero disdain for LeBron James. I simply don't think he's as good at basketball as some of you and the media claims. He's a top 5 talent no doubt. And in terms of accomplishments he's definitely top 10. But he's not as good as Michael Jordan or right behind him. That is the only thing I am arguing against.

I don't know how pointing out an athlete's flaws have become hating? LeBron James does not have a basketball resume that compares to Michael Jordan. He has too many black marks on his resume like the 2011 finals against Dallas and the fact his finals record might fall to 3-5. Plus before he gets to Jordan there are many other nba legends being disrespected because he hasn't passed them yet.

The same Kevin Durant that was beaten by Lebron in the finals when he had Westbrook and Harden on his team?

The same Durant that is playing in his second finals?

Durant is the Rodman on the equation to Curry/Thompson except his one trick is offense.

In the 2012 finals Kevin Durant was a 23 year old kid. So was Russell Westbrook. And Harden was 22. They were puppies. LeBron was 27 years old and in his physical prime. Chris Bosh was 28. And D-Wade was 30. Its was boys versus men that year.

Now Kevin Durant is a 28 year old full grown man in his physical prime.

Lets see if LeBron can beat Kevin Durant the man rather than Kevin Durant the kid.

What does skin color have to do with any of this discussion? Racist IMO.

Well I'm a black man. And I love the fact that LeBron James is a great role model for young black men. Unfortunately we don't have as many positive role models in pop culture as we should. Being one of the few positive black role models in pop culture makes me a huge fan of LeBron James.

We just got a commitment from '20 Wr Leonard Manuel. Didn't see a thread for him. How good is he?

I see his thread now.
