Jonathan Kongbo got the best of Marcus Tatum. Trey Smith held his own against Alexis Johnson and drew praise from Walt Wells. The most impressive rep came as Khalil McKenzie tossed Venzell Boulware to the ground consecutive times.

Regardless of the reason? Obviously whatever it was the staff felt good enough about to bring him in this class. A lot of things happen in life that aren't red flags but simply life doing its thing and tossing out circumstances, tragedy and whatever else it can dream up. Running to the old man counter at the store, assuming the worst and gossiping about what we don't know is silly.

Lol, this is what I hate about camp: is Kahlil killing it? Or had Venzell regressed? Is Trey Smith the second coming? Or is Alexis the next JUCO bust?

I'm just eating popcorn until Georgia Tech.

Not related to current times but: Josh Dobbs final 5 games were really overlooked because of the losses. 1,300 passing yards, 12 TD's, 75%, only 1 INT, 500+ rushing yards, over 10 ypc, 7 TD's. One of those games he didn't even play an entire half(so really 4 and a half games). Yes they were vs Teams with average to bad defenses but they were P5 teams and all but 1 went to a bowl game and one made Lamar Jackson look average. Idc who you're playing that's amazing numbers.

I agree. It's becoming clearer that many of them may have been underrated.

Doug Matthews said on his show recently that he thought the 2017 class was the best one yet under Butch. Certainly remains to be seen, but it sounds like it is full of low rated players with some serious upside.

There is another Palmer catch in the highlights that's even better than the short video in this thread. I like hearing that we are throwing more to the back shoulder than past years, as well.

I'm not really sure maxpreps is always 100% accurate. Knox News reported that TJ has 1300 yards rushing his senior year and I think 12 TDs. I figure they got the info from the staff.

The other thing I heard was that Butch wasn't particularly sold on TJ but Gillespie took Butch to one of TJ's basketball games and that sealed the deal. I'm guessing a combination of athleticism and competitiveness.
