Really, Smith? We probably haven't seen his full potential yet because of all the injuries he's had so maybe.

I'm kinda at the point where I'm more excited some younger guys and halfway expect a few of those guys to overtake him, TBH.

But I'd still love to see him stay healthy and for a full season, finally put it together, and go out on a strong note. I'd be tickled if he had a Zach Rogers-esque senior year.

Watching the Western Carolina game. Breakerboy is right, Dormady is slow. Very slow. Unless he's improved his speed since then, but I don't know how much you can really improve in that area. Guy has a cannon tho, and that was as a freshman

Slow compared to Dobbs in an offense tailored for Dobbs. Dobbs is faster than Guarantano also.

That's where I'm at as well. I'd love to see him have a good season but the younger guys have more upside, IMO.

Dormady made some incredible plays that game tho. His arm talent is legit. He may be the best QB in the SEC day one. But our line will have to protect him. He isn't escaping any pass rushes imo

Teague as advertised.

Roughly 100 yards on 10 carries 2 TDS.

Breaking tackles physical and that speed....

Otey looks better on O. 2 nice grabs

Kicker Burks is phenomenal. 5* for reason. Every kick through endzone.

They had Chubb against us last year. They return a less experienced OL this year, and if we can generate pressure from the DL we should be fine. I feel like the DL's probably the most important position group for us next year, if they're good, we're good.

I think Chubb had one carry. I don't really consider that to be the same as A full game worth of carries and receptions

If we run the same offense butch ran with Dobbs and Worley with Dormady, I think our production will look a lot more like the Worley games. Our rbs will get murdered without a running start unless there's a running threat at QB. Hopefully butch let's Scott adjust the offense if Dormady is the guy.

I don't care what he says or people keep trying to argue, QD is not mobile. Unless, as I said, he's improved his speed since that game, he will not be able to run a read option. But his arm more than makes up for that. Offense will have to be adjusted if he's the guy for sure. Arm talent tho is no joke

Slow as in got ran down from behind by a WC defensive linemen

Dormady had 4 rushes for 6 yards against North Texas that same season. Dobbs 4 for 3 yards. Prolly more athletic linemen. Do you account for the fact that Western Carolina was TRUE FRESHMAN Dormady's first career appearance? Maybe a little tentative? Still threw 6-8 for 93 yards and a touchdown. We should all be as slow. :)

FTR, our running game with Worley was pretty good in 2013. We had a stacked OL, of course. But we had no passing game or receiving threats to speak of and our two RBs were solid, but neither as good as Kelly.

Teams knew all we could do was run with our RBs (definitely not with Worley) that year and we actually had our second best YPC since Butch has been here.

The keys to our run game will be improved OL play and having a passing game that can keep defenses from selling out to stop the run (or punish them for trying to do so). Dormady's ability (or lack thereof) to be a threat running the ball should only be a factor if the OL underperforms or can't stay healthy again.

It's been two years and he's a pretty cut individual. Taking your cues from D4H scoutingwise will get you far.

Well as I said, yes he was a freshman, but when he broke to the outside trying to run after pocket collapsed he was caught from behind by a DT. His arm tho is incredible, and, as I said, he may be the best QB in the SEC day one if he can read defenses and take care of the football. He has an NFL arm imo. But he is not mobile at all, unless he's improved that speed. He may pick up a few yards if the pocket collapses but this isn't a guy that defenses will have to be concerned about running the ball.

Good point

It'll be adjusted if Guarantano is the guy. Neither is Dobbs.

In Dormady'a defense tho, that OL was trash. They couldn't block WC. Maybe if Dormady knows he's running he can be a little quicker.

You take a video clip from a game two years ago and formed an opinion...instant guru.

I'm watching all of his snaps in that game. Not a clip. Second, again, I don't know if you can really improve speed by that much. If so, then that would be great. And I don't remember claiming to be a guru. I'm just offering an opinion

I say he's mobile and better yet can throw with ease on the run. Haven't had that since maybe Shuler.
