I say he's mobile and better yet can throw with ease on the run. Haven't had that since maybe Shuler.

I hope you're right. He absolutely can throw on the run. Way better than dobbs in that area. He can throw the ball on a rope while running to his right. It's incredible.

I'm watching all of his snaps in that game. Not a clip. Second, again, I don't know if you can really improve speed by that much. If so, then that would be great

True freshman year first action...things change. :) Outrushed Dobbs against UNT that same season. Your next homework assignment...painful game tho. :pinch:

Dude he had 6 yards. Is that really your argument that he's mobile? Lol

I'm listening to a lecture on the differences between Rabbinic and Non Rabbinic interpretation. Even the NT game couldn't be more painful than that

Dormady made some incredible plays that game tho. His arm talent is legit. He may be the best QB in the SEC day one. But our line will have to protect him. He isn't escaping any pass rushes imo

Don't have to be fast to escape pass rushes. Just have to have good vision, awareness, and quickness.

FTR, our running game with Worley was pretty good in 2013. We had a stacked OL, of course. But we had no passing game or receiving threats to speak of and our two RBs were solid, but neither as good as Kelly.

Teams knew all we could do was run with our RBs (definitely not with Worley) that year and we actually had our second best YPC since Butch has been here.

The keys to our run game will be improved OL play and having a passing game that can keep defenses from selling out to stop the run (or punish them for trying to do so). Dormady's ability (or lack thereof) to be a threat running the ball should only be a factor if the OL underperforms or can't stay healthy again.

I disagree. You can't run the zone read with a qb who isn't a threat. No matter how good the RB and OL are. UF in 2013 was a perfect example. We had that great OL but couldn't move the ball at all. We put up good rushing numbers that year, but not against any of the good defenses. Sure we can out talent the non P5 teams and we did do well against UGA with Worley, but that was the lone exception of our offense working well against a decent team while we ran the read option with Worley.

Brendan Kay wasn't a speedster and ran the offense quite well at Cincy. Dormady is better than him...and Worley. We'll be fine whoever wins the job.

Slow as in got ran down from behind by a WC defensive linemen

Okay, I watched his highlights where he kept the ball. He had one rush picking up a 4th short-yardage down, where he dove for the first down. And he had one sack by an athletic senior LB. Where did he get tackled from behind by a DL?

But you're talking about a QB that can't run or pass well. We'll have one that can pass well. They don't have to be great running. They just have to keep it a few times to keep defenses honest. Keep it at the right time, and it's a big gain, no matter who the is the QB.

It was one of the plays where the pocket broke down and he scrambled out to the left and tucked the ball and got caught. I thought it was a DT. Maybe I'm wrong, their DTs probably on weighed 250 pounds anyway

First impression Blackman

Otey wearing Vols gloves

Knox Teague OSU gloves

Trey Knox is a GAM. Want

3 targets 3 catches 60+ yards with 2 circus catches dragging toe inbound. Beast

Don't care about the past with him talking crap. Need

I got a feeling we eventually get Trey Knox. He'll be the reverse Tee Higgins. It'll look like he's going elsewhere the whole cycle before ultimately signing with us.

I think the 2018 draft will have a huge impact. We'll have a lot of players drafted once again including Jauan Jennings who will go real high. That'll get guys like Trey Knox to see us in a new light.

Agreed. Dormady is the best pro prospect at the QB position in the SEC. His game reminds me of Joe Flacco. Big physical guy with a cannon arm, good accuracy, but limited mobility. For him to succeed, the offensive line has to improve tremendously.

If the OL can't protect, we'll have no choice but to play JG anyway. The QB comp may come down to the OL ability

Which is why I think both guys play. The o-line should be better but they won't be elite. So we'll need JG and the threat of the read option to run the ball effectively. I think JG will have a package of plays he runs every game. However, I suspect Dormady will get most of snaps.

"Trey said eff Florida recently. Teague recruiting him to OSU and he's down to UT and OSU. Loves UT staff now."

Current Blackman starter just now speaking with Jr.

Bass where's the eyes right?
