So it was 4 games instead of 3 and they were all missed for the same injury. That's supposed to help your argument how?

Got hurt against Appy state, Florida and then at the end of the year. Now he is likely missing more time. If you think that isn't injury prone then so be it.

Lol. It's called football. Players are always banged up. Missing 4 games out of 40 in his career is pretty good to me, so no, I wouldn't think of him as "injury prone."

We didn't start giving up a ton of yards until we lost the entire DT unit and more. And nobody thought it was ok. Everyone was concerned. You can be concerned about the defense looking bad but still be happy we won.

There was definitely people meeting those concerns with "doesn't matter, we won" post.

Look, I'm not trying to pile on the D but bad trends will catch up with you eventually.

Thankfully the Indiana State game will be here very soon to cleanse our palates. Hoping to see some split series between Dormady and JG, another WR step up to fill JJ's absence, and Chandler bust a 70-yarder.

This weekend will be Chandler's coming out party I bet. I can't wait to see JG. Wonder if we'll have a QB battle heading to Gainesville. I'm still shocked they didn't play him Monday night.

If Bituli and Callaway do not start going forward, there is something seriously wrong with the personnel decisions of this staff. I read today that Callaway had played 3 snaps until the 4th quarter. What if that had continued? We'd be talking about a big L this morning. Had Smith not hurt Bituli would not have played. He was far and away the best LB on the field. These are some questions that I have with this staff and Butch did not say definitively that either would be the starter going forward.

I don't think that can be right. Calloway went right in for Jennings when he got hurt didn't he?

Keep in mind that these line backer's jobs become more complicated going forward. With GT is was basically find the ball and go tackle them. They'll have to cover more in the passing game.

Butch said something about needing to see more consistency from Callaway.

I get that the coaches need to see guys perform day in and day out in practice. But that's the same dilemma that kept Dobbs sidelined until absolutely forced into action as a sophomore.

Butch is extremely risk averse as a coach. He'll play the guy who is a practice stud and proven "average" player on game day over the guy who maybe slacks off in practice from time to time or makes mental mistakes, but has the potential to absolutely ball out when the lights are on.

I'm very concerned about the D as well. Trying to be patient for a couple more weeks.

What's the threshold for Indiana State's scoring for pressing the panic button on Shoop and the defense?

They scored 20 on Eastern Illinois. I'm going with 10-14 points. Any more than that outside of garbage time (which should be in effect by early 3rd quarter) and we have an issue.

If only Bruin were more injury prone.

14 on starters would not be good IMO

Callaway is a gamer. If he is not WR1 from now on until JJ comes back, something is seriously wrong.
