What's the threshold for Indiana State's scoring for pressing the panic button on Shoop and the defense?

They scored 20 on Eastern Illinois. I'm going with 10-14 points. Any more than that outside of garbage time (which should be in effect by early 3rd quarter) and we have an issue.

I would say more than 10 on the 1s/2s, barring a TO that gifts them points. I could see a scenario where into the 3rd we go full on garbage time on defense but still run the full offense to see what Guarantano has. And if he lights it up they might have lots of extra possessions at the end to score on walk-ons

None of the receivers have been consistent in practice. They all put half the balls on the ground. By most accounts, Josh Smith is the best route runner and has been the most consistent when he's healthy. He's reliable on 3rd down. Callaway was money under pressure this week. Not sure what's up with Byrd. He should be a big weapon for us. And Chandler is fast and elusive-- he can take over Kamara's role and rack up yards quickly.

Callaway, Byrd, JSmith, Palmer, JKelly and Chandler can win a lot of games for us. If they can get the QB and receivers in sync, we can have a really good year. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do when they get the offense clicking.

Man, LWS is very down on this coaching staff.

It doesn't really make a ton of sense. Sounds like he's spewing a little venom.

Makes me wonder if he got his feelings hurt.

I'm sure almost any staff looks crappy when you compare it to 90s-era Fulmer, Chavis, and Cutcliffe.

He probably didn't get invited to the big sleepover. Now he mad.

Random thought: Got to think that the 7 on 7 had to help with the throw to Callaway in the corner of the EZ.

Maybe so, but Rece obviously knew what a legend he was at UT and most fans would enjoy that. It's hard to follow a legend, but Kesling bores me to death.

They should just give the gig to ol'Sarge here. The only speed bump is my penchant to curse a lot.

I hope they get Byrd some easy touches to get his confidence going. He dropped one on Monday night and lost another behind him on a big hit. He should get some chances on quick hitters instead of getting him hit. Get him going.
