I think in the case of Byrd, we need to see touches or some action in the next couple of games or there's no reason not to cut our losses and try him at DB... He is so talented, we need to get the most out of his ability and 2-3 passes a game isn't utilizing that talent.

It's pretty clear that CB needs him more than the WR position. He was getting blasted on his targets. We didn't take one real deep shot to a WR. Not the jump ball Callaway caught but the 9 route down the sideline. We had some posts that came open but the QB was locked in on the route underneath it.

Watching the game for the second time. Justin Martin should have his rear end sewed to the bench. Looked like doo doo out there.

This should be a big concern. Our coaching staff raved about Martin during spring and fall practice. Most improved from last year type of stuff. There's definitely a problem somewhere if they think he's improved from last year.

Maybe he's a great practice player and that's all he has. He looked terrible in the game. SEC OC's will pick him apart when he's in the game. Not a good look for us going forward.

If Calloway, Johnson, & Plamer or Williams have passed him, and he's going to be no better that 4th WR even with Jennings out, then I'm at a loss as to why they don't go ahead and move him to corner. Lord knows we need some athletes there.

I'm in Naples right now, and everyone is flipping the eff out! Our flight home for Friday has already been cancelled, and no others are avail.
It's not suppose to be here til Sunday morning.

So, they're canceling flights so people cannot evacuate ahead of the storm? Nice.

Kendall Vickers has a minor foot injury but was back in practice

Josh Smith looked fine in practice

Drew Richmond is back practicing and also looked good

Nothing on Austin Smith or Evan Berry. I assume they are being held out

I agree. We are loaded at WR, this year and with Taylor, Harris and Shocky coming in next year, along with Jones coming back from injury/redshirt and only losing Josh Smith, '18 will be even better. It's time to move Byrd to CB or at least give him 10 to 15 snaps a game on Defense and get him ready to go full time at CB, next year. Btw, don't sleep on Jordan Murphy. Butch, more or less said that UT is going to play him this year,2day. Murphy may be the best, true, pure WR prospect at UT since Da'Rick Rogers. Murphy needs to hit the weight room, but he is smooth and WILL produce this year, if given a chance

During times like this when there is so much heartache over a close win, It makes me feel better to think back on the '98 championship season! The Vols came out of the gate strong, beating the snot out of, a solid, Syracuse team. Arkansas was no competition and as usually the Vols whopped up on the Gators. Obviously that was all because we had a seasoned, 4 year starter at QB, whom we all knew would lead the Vols to a championship. Man those were the good ole days. Maybe someday the Vols will get back there. This isn't going to be their year because it's already decided, but I think I will watch the games anyway. You know, just in case! ;) Have a great day VN, Love you all!

Tennessee beat all three of those teams by one score though.... and the Syracuse game was won on a missed field goal...

Before GT I was thinking Kongbo would be our leading sack artist, but now I'm definitely thinking Taylor. He made a ton of big plays. Caused the fumbled pitch they recovered early in the game, in addition to everything else we've been praising him for. I think he'll get multiple multi sack games on his way to double digit sacks.

Kongbo is some kind of slow. I actually felt bad for him as I watched him chasing the play from behind. I don't think he had 2 tackles the entire game.

Larry is money on injury or other related info based news, his opinions don't count for a whole lot though. He has taken a marked turn for the overly negative the past few years.

You see this staff everyday at work. Are they garbage or not? If they are competent, they are not the problem.
