Recruiting Forum Off-Topic Thread II

Every thread on this board ends up discussing Leb and his ridiculous attention getting nonsense. Worst poster on this site and it's not close. Every thread eventually ends up being about his idiotic opinions.

On a positive note, posters are doing a great job not quoting his ridiculousness. Only seeing 1 out of every 20 posts that clown puts down. Good job team!

Yeah Conference USA is brutal. So much tv exposure too! Memphis is a great college town...

As a UT alum living in Memphis, I just wanna say that I love Knoxville but I love Memphis as well. A lot of nice people and great food. It gets a bad rep for the bad areas but honestly I really enjoy living here. I could see how a recruit would like the city itself. The football team, maybe not so much.

Yes, several, the atmosphere at Memphis will never be as good as UT but it has improved quite a bit, they are putting a lot of money into making the overall experience better and there is a decent shot the get into the Big 12 which while it isn't the SEC, it's still power 5.

When you say you enjoy Memphis. What part? Because 95% of the actual city sucks. Former Bartlett resident here.

I live in the downtown area and I enjoy all the amazing food options, grizzlies games, redbird games, all of the local breweries and watering holes, the majority of the people living here are local and usually pretty nice, its a big city but doesn't have as much of a big city feel as Nashville does (which I like). It just has a certain type of atmosphere to it that I like. As a 25 year old I love living here. Now as I get older that may change but for now its pretty good.

I loved midtown Memphis, and I lived in that area (Stonewall Ave. near Overton Park) for about 13 years.

I lived in Bartlett for about 3 years. It was ok, but I loved the central location of midtown.

Lived near Madison Avenue and the Zoo. A lot to see and do and loved the food, but to each his own.

Nice. I played SYS ball forever for the Panthers.

I was born in Jackson, TN, but family moved to the Raleigh area when I was 7 or 8. My father took a new job back in Jackson the year before I started HS so played HS football and baseball for the old Jackson High Golden Bears before that school consolidated with Merry High to become JC-M. We used to play some of the Memphis schools though; Catholic, G'town, White Station, are some that I remember.

I was born in Humboldt and moved back to live in Jackson after college. We used to go on "trim runs" to Memphis on weekends. Fun place but I wouldn't want to live there.

I played HS ball in AZ but it was so different that I actually didn't enjoy it. It just wasn't taken seriously and at the time my HS was garbage. I think we lost maybe 4 games my whole time with Bartlett so losing wasn't something I was into.

Going to be weird with no more JCM.

I used to spend a lot of time in Humboldt at the annual Strawberry Festival, plus had several friends from over there. Lots of 'trim' in Humboldt in those days.

MidTown is great. We live in Central Gardens and love Overton Square, Cooper Young, Memphis, Zoo, etc.

Downtown is good too with the Grizzlies, Red Birds, and the Breweries & Restaurants.
