Until you read this:NASA data found that California's snow accumulation this year was larger than the past four years combined.

One year does not a trend make. Show me above average snowfall for four years straight and we may have something.

The four years in was in college in East Tennessee

Jesus loves ALL of us equally.

It's not their fault that they were never introduced.
I don't believe that Jesus would hold it against them.

:hi:

He chose to hang out with tax collectors and prostetutes...
He knew that they could be saved...
Says a lot to me.

He tore into the religious leaders for their dogma about Old Testament text.
Maybe you should think about that...

Actually no... Jesus rebuked them for their disobedience to the OT texts and their abuse of them by adding traditions to the text (Mark 7:13). There is nothing wrong with the Old Testament texts, indeed they are the words of Jesus since He is God and all Scripture is inspired by Him. Second, His view of the OT is clearly seen in Matthew 5:17-20. So no, in fact, it was the Religious leaders neglect and abuse of the OT text, not their dogmatism. Oh, and also their strict belief that they could be saved by law keeping, that Jesus condemned. Hence, the truth of the gospel that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

You missed the point here.

The point was that making a similar profession of two different beliefs in a public setting will garner very different results. One will get all encouragement or silence. One will likely cause an ordeal of arguments and comments. The point was that nonbeliever stating their opinions/beliefs is usually reacted to in a much more confrontational manner that discourages the stating of those beliefs.

Personally, I would never go and post on Facebook about my religious/non religious or even political beliefs. There's no motivation for me to do so and even if there was it wouldn't be worth the trouble of the backlash I'd get from it.

All I have to say is that God still loves you no matter your beliefs.

I think it's blatantly obvious you are a Christian hater. You've already said you looked forward to when there were less Christians. I'll pray for you.

You young guys, that are doing it right, I have mad respect for. Keep spreading the gospel. Keep defending your right to outwardly display your faith. You make me proud. I guess Darth will have to wait another couple of generations for all the Christians will die off.

Again, you're putting words in my mouth. And you're being very petty to boot. I'm not a Christian, but I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't want his followers to use prayer for spite.

There are a lot of levels of formality to Japanese that some people stress over when trying to learn survival phrases. My philosophy is that if you're just here on vacation, go with the easiest ones because people don't expect foreigners to understand Japanese to begin with. Also, a lot of phrases don't translate exactly into english, but people will generally just be happy you're trying even if you use a slightly wrong word for something. With all that being said, the survival words phrases I suggest to people are often just the easiest to pronounce/remember and not worry to much about grammar and conjugations.

Domo-thanks
gomen- sorry
sumimasen- excuse me (can basically be used interchangeably with the former)
toire-bathroom/toilet
onegaishimasu/-please
doko-where
ikura-how much
itsu-when
eigo-english
wakaranai/wakannai-I don't understand
nama: can mean raw ie sushi, but in the context of a restaurant usually means draught beer (they call it nama biru)
iku/ikeru-go/can go
douyatte-by what means
no/ka-when used at the end of a sentence signals that it's a question
speak/can speak: hanasu/hanaseru
Japanese: nihongo

Some useful phrases

Where is the bathroom?
toire wa doko ka?

How can I go to x
X douyatte ikeruno?

Draught beer, please!
nama onegaishimasu!

I don't understand.
wakaranai / wakannai

I don't speak Japanese:
nihongo hanasenai

If there's anything in particular you want to know, you can ask any time. If you ever make it over here, I can type you up a cheat sheet for convenient phrases to remember. A lot of the travel books overly complicate things for tourists IMO

How many of those mentioned believe in reincarnation? Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism for sure, out of those you listed. If I am wrong but have lived a good life, then based on those faiths, I will simply come back somewhere else as someone else. However, if I am right about Jesus, then I am bound for paradise. If Islam is right or a religion that does not believe in reincarnation then I guess I am in trouble, but God/Jesus has blessed me beyond measure and I have seen Him work miracles in my life. I will put all my chips with God/Jesus and live my life without fear of being wrong.

Idk about Taoism, but Buddhism and Hinduism definitely have hells. In Hinduism you have to go through them to get reincarnated. I'm going to assume here (risky I know) that you've had your fair share of beef throughout your life...so yeah there's some risk there.

Buddhism is hard to generalize because there are a lot of different kinds with some different beliefs. But I'm sure Nick could tell us about the "Hell Parks" they have in places like Thailand. Somewhat like Hinduism, you've got to spend time relative to your karmic balance (whether you were a generally good person or not) before you get back in the cycle of reincarnation.

But in Buddhism the goal isn't really to keep getting reincarnated. It's to reach enlightenment and remove yourself from the cycle of reincarnation. Otherwise you keep going to hell and suffering for prolonged amounts of time because your karmic balance as a wasp was so s****y

Yeah most Japanese aren't huge fans of the military lol

And you'll hear people whispering in Japanese sometimes about you because they're not sure if you can understand or not. When I saw Shin Godzilla as I was leaving the theater there was a couple behind me talking about whether the foreign guy in front of them was able to understand the movie or whether he just wanted to see Tokyo get destroyed by Godzilla.

I turned around and told them I got most of it and the looks on their faces were priceless.

I thought you were out of the game, cat?

Yeah man its kind of complicated. I left for a few months to go to school during the spring but was asked to be back this summer. So I guess we will see what happens again, at least until school starts back. Likely going on support tour again soon

Just when you thought you were out....lol

Good luck on tour man! If y'all release anything else on spotify I'll give it a listen too.

But not just that, I love being a Christian NOW! I love being in a relationship with my LORD, which allows me to be free from worry, doubt, stress, etc., etc! And following after Jesus, keeps me accountable in my other relationships. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, chase women, etc., etc. This, I believe, makes me a better person here on earth!
No offense to anyone who participates in these activities! lol

None taken...more for the rest of us :)
