Sure but heroin is a physical addiction...the withdrawal is brutal and makes you need it with every fiber in your being. I understand a porn addiction too, but its no where close to a drug or alcohol addiction. I just dont see how a sensible person can't see it is fantasy and not real that is my only argument.

Ok.

I thought it would be impossible to find someone worse than heather, but I was wrong. In the past few years, I would listen to that show while working out, but it has become so bad that I now listen to music and the workouts seem to fly by. The "Sports Animal" doesn't have very many sports casters who are very good.

Lol my thoughts exactly. I wish swain could be in there slot. I can at least listen to him.

Its bearable without Heather, hopefully they transition her from maternity leave to an off the mike role.

Really? Because i cant stand listening to tyler. This is him: 'i woke up this morning, wearing my clothes from 7th grade that i can barely fit my body into, and realized my shoes were still on my feet as i rolled out of bed, when I thought, "what a great day it would be to go to the park and throw my Starscape SuperColor 175g Ultra-Star frisbee to my dog, because my dog is a great big golden retriever, that absolutely loves to run around and catch it." Then i realized i have to go to work.'

This is your brain on porn Newt.

I think Porn is a monster in the closet that no one wants to admit is there.... it cause chemical dependency the same as drugs and can cause (usually does) arrested development. I also think you could probably link it to a lot of the domestic abuse problems obviously it isn’t the main cause but it does contribute.

I agree.

I use to be addicted. That stuff literally rewires your brain... it’s nasty stuff. I did a study on it for about a month... amazing what you learn.

I still struggle with staying in the moment with my wife and not rushing to my pleasure. It has been a thorn in our relationship. Fixing the damage takes a long time.

Indeed sir... it really just comes back to selfishness... (I say that as someone in the same boat) having a servant mindset helps a lot... it becomes more fun that way too!

The mental anguish that it puts on a wife is heavy... time is really the only healing for that... I think anyway...

You said degenerates, which was pretty judgmental and unnecessary imo. And as far as I can tell it is been a very civil discussion on both sides. The only mocking I've seen about this issue has been from you. Both sides have a right to state their opinions here. Disagreeing isn't attacking or mocking.

I myself was a moral degenarate at one point, and could be again if I fall back. Just calling it what I believe it is. Sorry if I offended you.

As a former alchohol, drug and porn addict, I will say this about both, it is crazy how something can be so seductive and tempting sometimes, especially when you are down, and yet so completely disgusting and abhorrent to you also. It is a consequence you have to live with once you taste that fruit. You have to keep yourself in subjection, and always remember who you choose to be, and who you serve.

You didn't offend me. I didn't even comment on the topic. And degenerate is definitely something I've called myself before. Haha.
Was just reading the thread and noticing you were saying anyone with a different opinion was a degenerate and mocking you guys, but you were really the only one mocking and taking personal shots. Seemed unnecessary so I called you out for it. I appreciate a good discussion with differing opinions like what was going on, but that goes off the rails quickly when insults are hurled.

Damn Glitch, I really didn't realize this was a thing. Nothing but best wishes for you and your family.
And much respect for talking openly and honestly.

We will be good brother. Truly accepting God into my heart has made all the difference.

Porn really is a horrible thing and I hope that others that are struggling with it know that they are not alone. I don't even think mine situation was too serious but even a minor struggle has been enough to effect my marriage.

I consider myself logical and intelligent but when the devil finds your sin, he doesn't want to let you go.

Real talk. I truly appreciate you Glitch for opening up about it. Not a man alive that hasn’t caved to it. It’s really difficult. I hate it. It’s way too easy.

It’s corny I know but I find it helpful to remind the adversary when he loses. Tell him to go back to hell where he belongs. Resist the devil, and he will flee. A good reminder of how depraved mankind is because you find yourself right back at his table.

That is spot on but as brutal as that is, Heather is worse.

Catching up on this thread now, and VN has certainly found quite the topic. No need to parse words here, and I'm glad that the people of VN seem to be on the same page here. Porn literally is weaponized to demoralize it's viewing audience. I'm glad that it's already been mentioned that it does have a chemical reaction on the brain and it has an extremely negative effect on both the mind and body. The psychological ramifications are not to be understated either.

The history of porn is extremely disturbing as well. Even as recently as the 1960s and 1970s there were extensive obscenity laws in place against the production and distribution of porn. But you had these groups of elites who were at the forefront of the sexual revolution, who decided that this was now a free speech issue, and at the same time making a mockery of the Christian faith in America. Al Goldstein, who was in the 1970s one of the biggest producers and distributors of pornography, when asked why he was involved in producing this material said bluntly that "Christianity Sucks. Goldstein is an incredible anti-Christian bigot who has never hid why he got involved in such a degenerate industry. For decades, he has had nothing but horrible vitriol towards Christians and in his words "WASP" Americans.

Remember, these people who produce and distribute pornography, they hate people like us. People with morals, people who have found Christ, people who understand the dangers and damage of this kind of degeneracy. While Goldstein has passed on, the hatred and vitriol continues to exist today in people like Greg Lansky, and their opinions towards Americans and people of the Christian faith. Everything that is degenerate, ugly, disrespectful, heretical, obscene, it is idolized and promoted as a virtue by these people who product pornography. It's almost satanic. The more and more you research the history of porn, you'll be absolutely disgusted and never want to watch it again.

Stop. Watching. Porn.

It isn't just a harmless bedroom tool. That's how they sell it and that's how it may start our but it will worm its way into your heart and your brain and fester. It will destroy your relationships if you allow it to. Horrible stuff.

Not commenting on any of the porn stuff but you bring up free speech. The same amendment that protects Christianity, protects the right to speak against it. You can't really pick and choose the parts of the amendment you like.

Exactly, there's a reason why all this stuff is "free" and easily available on the web. It is addictive. It will ruin your relationships. And that's what they want. Populations of demoralized and broken men who keep returning to their network of websites for cheap thrills and an instant fix. It creates a chemical dependency where you keep coming back to their websites for more. Nothing in life is ever free. And this is all while the procurers of such vile degeneracy are laughing all the way to the bank, getting rich off of the misery of downtrodden men.
