Perhaps. But at what point do we stop allowing every offended activist to rename, tear down, sandblast, or otherwise destroy anything they are offended by? Slippery slope.
Nabisco offered to do it, they are a private company. They are relabeling the package to remove the cages. Oh my what a travesty!

They “offered” to change it after pressure from PETA. Point is, there is plenty of actual animal cruelty they could be using their time to combat.

I just don’t think I’m gonna be able to sleep tonight after hearing this news

First it’s no cages on animal cracker boxes, next thing you know the Lucky Charms leprechaun will be under fire!

I don't know what's worse, liberal hyper-sensitivity to anything that could possible be considered offensive or people that get so bent out of shape every time something, no matter how minor, is altered to adhere to the current climate.

I highly suggest that everyone here reads the essay by George Orwell, Politics and the English Language. It won't take long at all to read. But Orwell predicted how the English language would be subverted and debased, by certain interests, to fulfill a political agenda. Once you understand this incredibly important strategy, you'll realize why groups like PETA pressure Nabisco to change their branding, or why advertisements have certain themes in their messaging (a commercial isn't just a commercial - it's a campaign with a message). The guise of offense isn't because of 'muh feelings'. It's about achieving a political goal at the cost of completely destroying the English language and literally creating a newspeak, where having the wrongthink will get you banished from society and subject to the whims of the Ministry of Love.
