lmao what the actual ****? You think so little of a womans common sense and intelligence to imply that cant tell the difference between rape and being punched in the neck? seriously? Its an easy distinction and women are fully capable of making itRequiring a women to make the distinction between rape and being throat punched (because one is...okay?) doesn’t inspire much faith.
I think saying you want to punch them in their throat because they don't like their opinion was terrible. What brought confusion was she started talking about rape and pressing charges. Don't we all agree that this is bad regardless, but this is only one or two nutcases?Requiring a women to make the distinction between rape and being throat punched (because one is...okay?) doesn’t inspire much faith.
I guess I'll just have to deal with the fact that some of you are more virtuous than I am. And additionally come to terms with the fact that if you are a feminist, any other subgroup, you can't be called out for the dumb sh!t you say or do
nobody defends that but dont let your political views corner u into defending tactics like implying we are just a bunch of stupid hicks, when she's preaching don't judge me inferior because i'm a woman
woman is the last thing God created, so I cherish it
But not inconsistency and things that are incoherent, she's hiding behind something popular to insulate herself from criticism. There will always be dumb people, no reason to virtue signal that you are better than them, doesn't even need to be stated
No one and I mean absolutely no one on this board threatened violence. And I will not be shamed into believing I have to be okay with her because someone, somewhere, said something harsh to her.You can call anyone you want out for whatever opinion you’d like. Just don’t do with by threatening violence against women. It’s real easy.
Why is the distinction between throat punch and rape being brought up if the implication that the throat punch was more okay somehow wasn't intended. Like saying "why is she complaining, she was threatened with a throat punch or being choked, not being raped." I'm not saying that's what you were implying. Just that it seems to be a weird point of contention for people unhappy with how she responded. I agree about her lumping all Vol fans in that being stupid but not exactly the same level as what was said to her.I thought it was crude, but lumping all VOLS fans into the comments of one or two weirdo's is what I think most people were upset about. Has anyone here defended it?
I get that but to some, it's been used as a disqualifier in the past that painted them as lesser people either financially, intellectually or whatever. I'm not from Tennessee. I am a Floridian but I can appreciate why it's not looked upon so kindly.I look at it this way: I’m a Tennessee fan, and have been since I was born. I have family in East Tennessee that are pretty damn close to actual hill people.
I’m not about to get upset by an act as silly as lumping me in with hill people. Or even with ****** men. I’m not a hill person, and I try not to be a ****** guy. I don’t feel the need to defend myself against that because it doesn’t ****ing matter. Why that gets people riled up the point of wishing harm on someone is completely alien to me. It’s not virtue signaling- it’s a legimate bewilderment.
That's not my discussion but my guess:Why is the distinction between throat punch and rape being brought up if the implication that the throat punch was more okay somehow wasn't intended. Exactly.I thought it was crude, but lumping all VOLS fans into the comments of one or two weirdo's is what I think most people were upset about. Has anyone here defended it?
True.... But let's not allow women to do whatever they want just because they're women. I'm one so I can say it.You can call anyone you want out for whatever opinion you’d like. Just don’t do with by threatening violence against women. It’s real easy.
Maybe but VN is pretty anonymous so threats are generally pointless. Her Twitter is not anonymous so a threat is at least a little more serious there. That's not my discussion but my guess:
If they're equal or close, best not to swap one for the other. Makes people question why - human nature.
Also, I've seen VN board members threaten throat punches several times, with no outrage. Don't think I've ever seen anyone threaten rape on here and doubt it would be received the same.
Opinion of course.

we believe that too, its the sanctimonius righteous indignation that seems a little incoherent from her and her kind that is the problemI look at it this way: I’m a Tennessee fan, and have been since I was born. I have family in East Tennessee that are pretty damn close to actual hill people.

i, personally, am not offended but again, I can appreciate why some would be, is all I'm saying.we do the exact same thing to bammers and gator fans, we've even found a way to ridicule vandy fans for not being poor enough! lol. ridicule comes part of being a sports fan. especially a tennessee fan lately. if someone brought it up in a job interview, sue like hell! but a sports writer said it on the internet because we just dethroned her team. she doesn't deserve what she's getting. no one does.
She messed up, some fans messed up. Its that simple. its Twitter. its a collection of people messing up.Please be outraged on my behalf.
-- Tennessee Hill Person
Seriously though, I'm a straight up Tennessee redneck. My upbringing is as white trash as it is feasible to have growing up outside of Alabama. I'm not offended at all by being called a hill person. I would be slightly more alarmed at someone threatening assault or rape, though I doubt either are legitimate fears l. I could understand why a young lady would find those alarming. I can understand why a female sports journalist would have a chip on her shoulder.
I think she's probably very much in the right here and those folks who continue to attack her on Twitter are in the wrong... but my white trash parents taught me to try not to be an a-hole unless it was absolutely necessary.
I disagree. It’s given people opportunities and a platform they’ve never had, some just abuse it. How cool is it you can have a conversation with someone across the world, or promote your business, talk with your favorite athlete, ect.The world was better off without Twitter or social platforms. Imo
