But you are left with the choice to believe it or not. But what He taught is clear.

Maybe it just means to act christ like or simply abandon all possessions and be a servant to the less fortunate. Idk. But you are assuming and guessing a lot what any of it even means. Yes, I am a Christian and teach at the high school level. What makes me different is I've taken more evolution classes than most who try and defend the theory. How does a teacher no take evolution as fact? Because to best teach a subject I need to learn all I can about to put the subject into layman terms. So, I take what I've learned and what I've researched and I decide for myself if I should take it as fact or not. Evolution in the sense that microbes over millennia have turned into this vast biodiversity we have now does not hold water to me. Evolution in the sense that animals adapt to their environment does hold water, but this change is not tiny changes over time. It's a cat growing thicker due to combat the cold. A bird nesting on the ground because that's the safest place to incubate their eggs. A bacterial infection resisting medicine because that's how it survives. Adaption is real. Macro evolution is science fiction

Have you given up all possessions yet? Sure don't want to be seen as rich, that's for sure. 0 chance of getting to heaven, so that same book says. And considering middle or even lower class is extremely rich by world standards, better get to work. Literally no one but a few monks in the US stand any chance going by biblical standard.

had a yuge rant typed out to Bass. Science & Theories (despite being fact based) like Evolution is just one lens that God allows to discover and view the World He created and arrive at our own conclusion. Free Will. I don’t know. There’s very few references of tigers, bears, dogs, or any other animals either. If dinosaurs lived then they were just normal to them. Most of the dinosaurs we see in the fossil record would have died in the flood tho according to a biblical worldview. However, I think the dna that has been found in some dinosaur fossils including soft tissue would be evidence that those dinosaurs are not as old as secular scientists would have us believe.

You know what? There are records from humanity's past other than the old testament. No dinos in any of it.

Well, science is proven and stuff and makes sense and things. The Bible is...stories written by men a couple thousand years ago and then passed on by more men, all of whom weren't really all that educated. And why would they have been? Imagine what those guys thought when looking up at the stars at night? Exactly. It makes sense that folks wrote these books and told these stories to keep order. It's not really necessary anymore and hasn't been for quite some time.

Religious folks need to quit trying to convert everyone and condemn them to hell if they don't and lead by example, their actions. Non-believers need to quit thinking everyone that believes is somehow stupid and less educated for having faith in something that lacks scientific evidence.

Trolling or not, this discussion could keep rolling for 72 more pages and when we get to the end of it, every person posting will still be of the exact same opinion as when we started. I find all these views fascinating but the nature of it is such that it can't be resolved. Everyone's viewpoint starts with an initial fundamental assumption that frames all further arguments, so all subsequent debate isn't even on the same terms and people just keep talking past each other.

No man cometh unto the Father, but by me" the very next thing he said is "No man cometh unto ME except that the Father who hath sent me draw him"

Arguing with people that God the Father has not convicted to seek Jesus is just a recipe for confusion, and God is not the author of that...satan is.

Absolutely. Your much better off leading by example. Influencing people by living Christ like. If you try to force feed anyone anything, especially religion, its most likely going to have the opposite effect.

All Christians are sinners and fall short. When you act mightier than thou, when you misstep, you give the doubters even more reason to look at you as disingenuous and fake. I choose to follow in the steps of Christ. It is my obligation to witness to those that want to listen but it's not my place to judge anyone. My desire is to lead a life that others would like to emulate. That means doing things Christ like. Anyone that knows me knows I fall short of that daily but it doesn't mean I shouldn't try.
