Again, this is crazy disingenuous.Literally my first post was this:
Note the phrase: “It is ALSO (ALSO) going to hurt that they push politics. What does the word also mean? It means that clearly there are other contributing factors. And yet, here you are in your last response saying
So my very first post, which is noticeably absent from your most recent rant, assumed other contributing factors, and here you are saying that I framed it as if it was THE issue. That is not my argument, never was my argument, but you treated it as tho it was. This has been your debate from the beginning, not mine. I brought ESPN up as an example of how pushing politics hurt ratings. And I was right about that. Nothing more. You made it something more by contributing to me arguments and motives that weren’t mine. The reason I posted “whatever you say” is because you were debating a straw man and not me. I’m not going to defend a position that isn’t mine.
As I said, this is a strange debate that you, and only you, are having as I never said that politics was the only reason. You made that up.
The discussion started off about Disney flooding the market with their own movies and hurting themselves with this post.
At some point saturation and market cannibalism is going to have to slow this train down. It's crazy.
Then you brought up the politics issue.
I posted that Disney doesn’t genuinely care too much about politics that don’t affect their bottom line and that politics creeping into their movies has more to do with pandering to target demographics.
Then you made the discussion about ESPN and politics as if that was their biggest issue,
Doubled down when it was pointed out that there are bigger issues facing ESPNYeah... people don’t care about that. Just ask ESPN.
And then backtracked once other pointed out the same.So I’m imagining that ESPN president said they were cutting out the political talk because they had lost viewers because people didn’t want to watch it?
Nobody said there weren’t other factors.
But there’s also this
ESPN president: 'Our fans do not want us to cover politics'
And now you’re ranting about the definition of the word also and acting like your 2 OPs were mentioning Disney/ESPN downturns in the context of other factors? C’mon, man.
You tried to act like Disney is set to have a downturn because of politics and ESPN’s struggles have been due mostly to politics. And then you got butthurt, backtracked, and withdrew from the discussion when I (and others) pointed out that the issue is more complex.
But hell there’s a good chance I’m wrong about all this. You said I made it up and last I checked you’re the RF’s resident expert on make-believe.
