It's interesting that Smart has so much talent but chokes because he's a terrible game coach.

Its interesting that Smart has been more successful in his first 3 seasons than Dabo, Meyer, and Saban. When Smart got to UGA the last 4 classes averaged 8th. When Pruitt got to UT the last 4 classes averaged 11th. Seems Smart is making more use of his talent than Pruitt.

UGA is returning to the SECC for the third straight year, but the programs are heading in opposite directions? UT has more room for growth since they have nowhere to go but up. Kirby is an elite recruiter in a talent rich state, so I doubt the recruiting bottoms out. LSU and their high powered offense managed 2 more points against Auburn than UGA did and won by a lesser margin. The lack of experience and returning production at receiver certainly hurt UGA, but saying that wins over 3 ranked teams is a sign of regression is a bit ridiculous. UGA has more top 10 wins than any other top 10 team besides LSU and is tied with LSU for ranked wins overall.

They didn't, but the last time LSU won a championship they lost to 2 unranked teams. Its almost like 1 game doesn't define a season.

We went blow for blow with them the first half of our game.If not for the blown PI call that we shoulda gotten who knows how that game goes.When they went and scored rite before half can’t rem how it went exactly but it’s kinda sucked the wind outta us.Think Georgia to have the talent it does is highly overrated.Had they kept fields instead of Fromm I think they be a much much better team.

your clueless if you think this is an accurate comparison. Your comparing Smart at UGA after Richt era of consistent 9-10 wins in easiest state to recruit elite talent with a system already in place that he runs because Pruitt runs similar defense to that of Dabo rebuilding Clemson, Saban building Michigan St and Meyer at Bowling Green or Utah or wherever your using ? Also Pruitt is changing entire schemes from Butch and taking over from a disastrous strength program Butch destroyed. You can’t just look at paper. Smart took over a well oiled machine that richt was only fired because you were looking for someone to take the next step. Pruitt was hired to fix a sinking ship

lol ya, that one PI call cost UT the game. Fields would have the same OC and receivers to work with at UGA that Fromm does.

Different caliber players for the most part. Recruiting analysts like Barton Simmons still use the term “butch jones paper 4 star” for a reason

Never said it cost us the game.All I said is it flipped the momentum super quick and anyone with eyeballs and a brain could see that.Fields is FAR AND AWAY a bettwr qb than Fromm.

Clemson won a natty with a loss to Pitt. OSU won one with a loss to VT. Florida to Ole miss. If you play in a power 5 conference, chances are you can make the playoffs with one regular season loss.

Doubt he doesn't realize all of that.
But when you keep choking away the big ones, gotta find the board of a team that's been at rock bottom.
Only place you can beat your chest without looking ridiculous.

What is the most interesting is that UGa has had a boat load of talent for the last 29 years or so and still not had a NCAA championship title sice the days of Hershel Walker. Kirby was stacked with talent at least 3 deep at every position when he arrive at UGa and even with his stellar recruiting has failed to win a NATTY

I responded with facts to a post someone else made and got a massive amount of defensive posts. UGA and UT are both recruiting kids that haven’t seen either school win a championship. At least at UGA kids have seen them win the SEC and make the playoffs. I have no issue saying UT used to be good, but the fact is UGA is currently better.

Pruitt had a similar amount of talent to work with and didn’t come close to the results that Kirby had.
