More than just one study coming out now showing tons of people with antibodies in the hotspots. Chelsea, MA reports only 2% of the population with the Wuhan virus, but a random study of antibodies shows 60 out of 200 had it and never knew it. Add it up and roughly a third (1/3!) of the population has had the thing.

That’s a mortality rate of 0.3% with rudimentary treatment procedures, people.

Take the next few months to formalize treatments, prepare our medical professionals, and then let’s open this dang thing back up completely. Gaining herd immunity is closer to reality than we realize.

I need to be in Neyland with 100k of my closest friends this fall.

Nearly a third of 200 blood samples taken in Chelsea show exposure to coronavirus - The Boston Globe
'Antibodies won't necessarily protect one from a Coronavirus infection'.

Read the article and at the end they say since more are out there infected and may be carriers is even more reason to stay at home 24 hours a day. Sounds like they will use it to shut things down even more.
Only the news media can take something positive and spin a negative.

Those beautiful boobs.

“Hey, there’s a negative slant to this positive article. Let’s use that to replace the positive back with the negative.”

You ain’t stealing my sunshine.
Best one ive heard is its a Dem Conspiracy fronted by Pelosi's supposed financial interests in Bio Pharma. Utilizing her vaaast background in molecular biology and weaponizing viruses as well as aspiration to be a Dictator predicated on mass murder and genocide, she created Sars Cov 2.

Of all the dumbass theories, gotta hand it to Fox on that one. That wins dumbass of the year award.

No, but if that many people were exposed and didn’t develop severe disease, it suggests the mortality is far lower.

These antibody tests are big, *but*, the results can only be extrapolated if the tests are truly a random sampling. I love that they are doing them, but I have real questions about the methodology of both. A street corner or Facebook ad calling for participants may not be as random as it needs to be to infer population wide results. For instance, if I thought I might have had symptoms, but was never serious enough for testing, I might be quicker to agree to getting stuck. While more proven positives lowers mortality (good), the lack of randomness can lead to the appearance of a lower mortality than is true (dangerous). If it really is 0.3%, then we absolutely need to change path. But if it really is 1.0%, and we act like it’s 0.3%, it’ll be tragic. It‘s very easy to oversample less susceptible populations, and bad information can prove to be worse that no information.

But these early antibody tests are definitely encouraging.

Smh. Guess you accepted your appeal to extreme fallcy, but focus on the specific arguments here. FOCUS.

I said this:
"Shoot first culture means we tend to resolve with guns more than elsewhere"

You responded with:
"Except WE don't. Talk about generalities. The overwhelming majority of gun-owning Americans do not tend to resolve issues with guns unless they or their loved ones are physically threatened with harm."

Do you see the difference in premises? Slow down, read, and comprehend the arguments first.

Riiiiight, except that is NOT what you said originally. This statement by you is what I originally responded to -

It's the culture. The "Annie grab your gun", shoot first, ask questions later culture, that glorifies guns.

That is not a comparison to "elsewhere", but was rather just a blanket statement about American culture with no basis in fact, so I don't blame you for walking it back.

I watch Fox News and CNN just for the comedy of them asking a question, talking over the guest expert giving the answer, acting like they know more than said expert and then cutting them off. Lol
They finally touch on an interesting topic and spend 2 minutes on it with constant interruptions. Got to hurry as they only have 24/7 airtime to fill.

Lol YOU asked for clarification and now go back to my original post, as if I never gave clarification...that is some good mental gymnastics to keep us going in circles lol. You want to ignore the basic argument to make it sound insane (bloodbath everywhere!..) or you just keep responding to the made up argument in your head.

C'mon man, stay on point.

My whole first post and every one since was about trying to figure out what is uniquely American as to why we are such an anomaly. Culture is certainly a component, imo.

Lol YOU are the one that asked for clarification. I did. You responded to it, by actually not responding to it at all, but replying to the (most extreme) argument in your head. No need to walk anything back. I stand by what I said, you just 1) took it in the most extreme possible way, then when I responded with clarification, 2) you responded to a completely made up point.

Lol you can't seem to follow simple post by post arguments. That or you think you are slick and can trick by going in circles and posting non-sequiturs. You did this before in the main forum and started posting quotes...except they were out of order 🤣

Look...here's the post I responded to some pages back with clarification...

Then I responded with this, literally quoting what you just quoted...follow?

So how do you reply? By starting all over, ignoring the entire point, and going full circle.

All roundabouts aside, my mere point was the gun culture here is unique and maybe that is a component of our particular gun issue here.

Some people blame the guns. Others say it is the people. But when it is this unique to us as a 1st world country, I think we have to look toward broader ranging possibilities.

Maybe it's because our country has a 2ND amendment?
